I know a lot of people reckon he won't go until they've appointed a CEO but how long is that taking? Seems to be taking a fair bit of time.

Compare and contrast

Guardiola in March - “Are we tired? Fuck you. Are we tired? Fuck you. Champions are not tired”.

Bruce in August - “The schedule is ridiculous. How are we supposed to play so many games just as we are trying to build our way into the season “.

He’s nearly got three first elevens to choose from! We have a ridiculous amount of players earning very good money.
It’s just a shambles.

Sooner or later, somebody higher up has to ask the obvious: if the players aren't playing as you're training them to play, why are you the man to manage them?

I stand by my view that it was a crass miscalculation by the new owners not to make a clean sweep on their arrival.  They kept a failed manager because it was the lazy, easy thing to do.  Instead of being brave and sending out the message loud and clear that things had changed at Villa Park they sent out the message that nothing had changed.  And it hasn't.  Bruce is still being Bruce.  Bruce is still trousering a colossal wage packet and the Villa can't  beat teams with inferior squads and a fraction of the finance.  We have had some shockingly bad managers post Ellis but Bruce is the worst.
Worse than Lambert McLeish Sherwood ? Come on now Brian that's crap !

I posted on the match thread that I firmly believe that there is an essence of Eric Black about Bruce and his team selections.  I believe he knows he's gone and is being obtuse in his team selections, wrong players picked, correct players wrong positions etc.  I've read all the arguments of both sides for keeping Bruce, but this again tonight, is unforgivable.  New CEO or not, he's got to be told to pack his stuff.  He can proffer all the excuses he wants but it's obvious to me that he cares little or nothing for Aston Villa or its supporters.

After tonight I think you might be onto something Dave.  I previously thought he was just clueless, but this latest team selection was so baffling that the only other logical explanation is that he's doing this deliberately. Clueless or malicious, either way it's unacceptable.

I don’t buy any of that
I honestly believe he’s doing his best doing the same things he’s always done

he just isn’t very good, rubbish actually

I said at the end of the 2016/17 season he should have gone. He failed to improve us in those 6 months and we had many abject displays. That has continued. Awful

It's not, those others were at least useless in the top division. Bruce is failing against far inferior opposition, which is a strong argument for him being the worst of the lot.

What they have done is not made a rash decision.  I'm sure they are observing and will be sounding out behind the scenes.  You don't get to where they are in life without being ruthless and if they think that Bruce isn't their man, they will get rid and will throw money at another club to bring in someone of quality.   Whilst we are in a lower league, there is no way that Bruce is as bad as the likes of Garde, Sherwood or Black.  At least the fans have started to love the club again.  That said, right here, right now, the owners need some balls and show that they are not to be taken lightly.  Bruce needs to go.

Bruce seems to bemoan the fact that “we didn’t move the ball quick enough” after virtually every game.

Well if it keeps happening, whose fault is that twat face??

I'm moving into the out camp now. He'll point to our position in the league but our record of 2 wins and 3 draws merely reflects his preference for not losing above winning. You don't get promoted by drawing, especially against some of the dross we've already played.

We're the envy of the division, just looked at how many changes we made today and the strength we still had on the pitch, at least on paper. The result was all too predictable. Turgid coming forward and barely able of a clean sheet up the other end. We're going nowhere and if we are in mid-table come November, I hope the new owners make a change.

Basically its everyone's fault but his, the team played without zip as he called it, however he only made one sub. Perhaps the reason for that is the players on the bench would have been more pedestrian than the players on the pitch, which again would have been his fault.

Rhetorical question. Will he ever concede that it’s actually very often his fault we are shit?

So, again, it's all the players fault.  Not moving the ball quickly enough, testimonial pace etc, how about showing some bollocks and take someone off after ten minutes because they can't be bothered, such as poser Henri feckin Lansbury?  That will show them you mean business.  Shouting your bollocks off from the side of the pitch. especially at such a small ground, to make yourself heard?  Too many excuses.  Win the next game.
