Bruce Sacked at last (now official)

I agree to a large extent, my problem is saying anyone who doesn't agree is a moron.

It's a matter of saying anyone who doesn't agree, then goes to lengths to back their opinion like saying (a novice like) Henry has to be better for what ever contrived reason is a moron. If you think no-one is saying that then I suggest you get yourself over to Twitter. Some of the arguments in favour of taking Henry over Bruce are incredible and make no sense to me whatsoever.

"Henry will have Wenger's ear" - just like Remi Garde, presumably.
"Henry will have contacts in the game" - like Bruce, and anyone in football management has, perhaps.
"At least there won't be leaks to the media from Henry" - Really? So who leaked that Villa had contacted him?
"He's failed to get us up at two attempts" - He lost a quarter of the first season to Roberto Di Matteo, and had to contend with the loss of his parents in rapid succession during the second - that would have affected ANYBODY.

And there are far more. I might go looking for them later.

I also think its time people remembered that Bruce came in and steadied the club. We'd been relegated with our worst points total in 140+ years of existance, and followed that up by employing the frankly useless Roberto Di Matteo (don't tell me he managed Chelsea to their CL win, they'd have come close with Mr Blobby in charge that season). I think Bruce is deserving of another go at this.

My one wish for this season is that we never have to hear the excuse about Bruce's parents ever again.  He's 57, it's hardly unusual to have lost both parents by that age.

Suggesting that people who have a different opinion to you is slightly moronic in my view. If you believe that Bruce is the way forward for our club then fine. If you believe that he deserves a another go at it then fine. I believe that he is a million miles from what we need to rebuild the shambles of the last few years and the sooner he goes the better and yes, I would have been prepared to give Henry a chance. There are absolutely no guarantees in this game as the so called promotion expert Bruce has proven, but I believe that Henry will be one hell of a great coach. I think the "will have wenger's ear" is just a suggestion that he'd be available for some advice, given that Bruce clearly used Fergie in that capacity I don't think it's moronic to suggest as an advantage, it's an advantage Bruce has used repeatedly for years.

Contacts in the game clearly applies to everyone but I suspect people are referring to Arsenal, Barcelona and Pep in the main here. If employing Henry meant we moved top of the list for a couple of youngsters from those clubs I can see the positives.

The media thing I suspect is just a frustration at how the press have given Bruce such an easy ride.

The last one though is completely true and nothing to do with Henry, Bruce did fail twice, and making excuses for him is a big part of the reason why, after 20 years as a manager, he still makes basic errors because there's always a reason why it's not his fault.  He does it a lot himself but oddly people that think he's a good manager go way further in defending him.

We're not likely to in future, unless he does a Stephen Ireland. Losing both parents in such a short space of time must have had an effect on him though. But, yes, that is in the past now.

The first time he had 35 games to do it, not 46. Probably more mitigation than the thing Risso doesn't want to hear about again.
