I admit I am not a Bruce fan.  To retain someone to do what they have a track record at and see them fail miserably doing the same things that failed before baffles me.  Henry on the other hand was a risk albeit one that offered some excitement.  The nightmare however would be NSWE wanted Henry but couldn't convince him thwy were serious.  To be turned down by someone with zero experience woukd be an embarrassment to far for this great club.  Steve Bruce is a real football man and his demeanour in a season where he suffered such personal heartache was admirable.  But if come October we are chugging along in the 4 - 10 places he must go.  Is that more pressure that Henry woukd have - I don't know but we can't waste another year.

Oh heck, think I'll avoid the football side of things on here until he's gone/won promotion. You're all going to have a massive falling out.

Don't worry we'll sort it out in the playground.

Think it was the only thing they could do in reality. 12 days to go to the start of the season, we are short of (at least) a keeper, central defender and probably a playmaker. Bruce needs to get on and, by hook or by crook get in loans or short term proven players in those positions

As the players he hoped would come through last year are that bit older (Green and Davis in particular) and Kodja looks fit and having benefited from Pre season ... I’m slightly more optimistic than a lot I read on here.

What I do worry about is the central defence and the keeper, so (as an extreme irritant continually shouts in our block of the Holte) sort it out Bruce!

I’m pleased its sorted and for or against we can concentrate on the fast approaching season.
SB needs results fast as I’m sure he’s aware of so its onwards and upwards for me.
TBF though I’d renew if Donald Trump was manager.
Managers and players come and go but the club will always need supporting.

If they think FFP is bad now, I’d be interested to know what their plans are for next year when the parachute cash runs out completely.

Apparently it has all changed again after a meet with the new owners. I will keep my trap shut from now on. They are making me look bad!

Keep ‘em coming Chelts you’re mostly right.
Ignoring the ITK bits, he mostly isn't 🤐🍺

I hope he has promised a more positive approach,  as i don't believe the other will work. Either we are top after 6 games or he should go. But my gut feelings say p:6 2w 4d 0 l, which isn't good enough

I didn't want him to stay, but I can understand why they want him to. No doubt he will have to impress though, these new guys won't stand for poor form and poor performances.

Shame. We had another chance to rebuild and we’ve stuck with Bruce. Such a shame and totally lacking in ambition IMO

I've just met them briefly and I get the impression that they want stability first of all. Bring in a CEO, sort out the hundred little things that have grown to become one huge problem,  then let the people they employ do what has to be done.
Sounds like a plan.

In my opinion, the right call. Dropping Henry into his first job 12 days from the first game was asking for trouble. I would imagine Bruce is under no illusion that he has their full backing for now...provided he starts the season better than last year!
