I do find myself wondering how badly things would have to go for people like Tom Ross to turn on him.

Probably worse than a playoff final to be honest.

You beat me to it.  I'm coming around to some of the arguments of getting a new man in, if only to keep it interesting.  But it's not as if Bruce got us relegated or something. Yes, ultimately a failure, but not a fucking disaster (esp now we have rich new owners etc).

That's a playoff final with a team that should've been promoted automatically though.

That's the problem, Conte gets sacked for not making the champions league with Chelsea who expected top 4 and no one in the press has a problem but Villa sacking Bruce for failing to get us promoted twice is unfair and he deserves more time, etc.  I'm fed up of being told that our expectations are unrealistic, from the press it's patronising, from other fans it's fucking mind-blowing that's we're 4th in the 2nd division and some think the manager did a good job.

I don't think he is a terrible manager. He is an average manager, whereas we need a good manager.

He is on the downslope of his managerial career as modern football is leaving him behind.

I agree, I'm unhappy with the job he's done overall, but not necessarily just because we didn't finish higher or win the playoffs or what have you. I'm unhappy that it was such a patch-up job, so short-term, with no actual sustainable plan in place to build a team, or a real discernible football style, or some sort of model for how the club should be run going forward. If anything, the short-term ambition was too great - it was promotion, now, all or nothing, and that was stupid whether or not it succeeded.

This is all Bruce does. Bumbling along, improvising, fixing small problems rather than addressing the big ones, like putting buckets under a leaky roof. We need someone who's going to fix the f*cking roof.

Henry is a big fan of NBA. I wonder if there is a connection there.
At a quick glance, I misread that as 'WBA'.  I know Henry is French, but that would be taking Surrealism too far!

Bruce wasn’t a disaster but if you were a billionaire owner of a football club would you trust him with your money?

I agree with this too, so a new manager will just have to start 3 places behind

The meeting between Bruce and his bosses should at least be in progress by now?

His card was marked the day we announced that every team from the under 7s to the under 23s would play a form of vibrant, pass and move, attacking football. But that it wouldn't apply to the first team.

Whether Henry is the answer is anybody's guess. But, when the kids are knocking on the door of the first team, I'll back any manager who says 'you know everything you've learnt from Sid? Well, that's what I want you to do in front of forty thousand fans on Saturday.'
