Lee Hendrie being all contradictory in The Daily Star.

“I’d love to see Steve continue at the club because I think he deserves that shot. He’s only just missed out in the play-off final.

“He’s come and steadied the ship. The club was in a mess. It would be a crying shame if Steve leaves.

“It would be great to see Thierry come in and do a fantastic job, we all know what a fantastic world-class player he was. But is it a gamble? That’s my big question mark over Henry coming in.”

He hasn't steadied the ship, he's been complicit in holing it.

The only steady/stable I see, Lee, is that we're about to kick off a third consecutive season in the same fucking shit division.

Has he fucking gone yet?
To be fair, he did steady the ship to start with.

Bruce is a bit thick, which is a major limitation.
We need an intelligent manager for a change.
Neil deGrasse Tyson?

The bottom line is this. Neil Warnock got a bang average bunch of players up quite comfortably. Bruce was allowed to assemble an expensive squad including a player who cost more than Cardiffs entire squad -Scott Hogan-who he had no idea what to do with! Sorry but ultimately that spells failure to me. He's a top bloke who would have been ok to keep on in the circumstances that we were in before the new owners arrived. I don't think they will trust him with their money so they'll want their own man or men in. Thanks for trying Steve but you have to go. Welcome TH, it's obviously a gamble but it could be the making of a bold new era. Who knows. Good luck. The claret and blue army will get right behind you.

A guy I am growing more and more fond of listening to is Simon Jordan and today on TS he listened to Ron Toss's rant and then offered that although he is a big fan of SB and that he had many traits - loyalty was not one of them.
It is ok for SB to state he wants to stay - as many have said before this is the absolute top job he would ever get as Manager and he knows it so anything afterwards is a downward trend.

I hope they deal with him fairly and with dignity (after the awful personal year he had) but lets face it - with the resources he had at his disposal he cannot consider his time here anything less than failing to meet the target.

As for it being TH and being public - that is the nature of the game as if he becomes available I bet Chairman are already weighing up swapping their own current manager for SB

Did the NBA owner not have a rep for arriving and immediately sacking the present coach?

Whether TH or not I am sure they will want their own man in soon enough

The word loyalty can never be associated with Steve Bruce. He’s left clubs when it suited him. It suits us now to part company. And if he was better than “there or thereabouts” we would be having this conversation.

I still believe that RDM would have done the same once the new players had settled in. He would have turned it around and finished upper mid table. Xia needed promotion (as we have now seen) and brought in the promotion specialist who finished ....... upper mid table.

I don't believe the 'steadying of the ship' was a great achievement.

I'm just surprised Lee Hendrie can string a sentence together on a keyboard, tbh.

Yep, pretty much, and it was replacing an experienced but underperforming coach with a young coach who was a brilliant player. There was also some controversy around the way he was replaced because the new guy was announced in the press before the existing coach was told - https://eu.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/2014/06/30/jason-kidd-larry-drew-fired-coach-milwaukee-bucks-brooklyn-nets/11805271/

All seems pretty familiar to me.  The big difference is that the new coach that time was close friends with one of the new owners (not Edens) whereas nothing has come out yet about a personal link with Henry.

I think the steadying of the ship was a great achievement and thank him for that, I honestly believe that there were a number of poisonous individuals at Villa park, now we just have two of them left, but a big part of that steadying was done last year by one Mr. Terry.
Bruce was brought into get promotion and he failed and from a playing side he has decimated the squad. Time for a change, Bruce is not going to change his beliefs.

if he goes he’ll still leave with approx 2 mill in his pocket

Whilst leaving a squad not worth anything like the money he paid for it
many of them unsaleable due to age, high wages and the fact they aren’t very good at football

He’s just been not very good in any department since he’s been here with the possible exception of getting a tune out of Grealish

I’m really surprised nay amazed people still think he’s the right man for the job

I do find myself wondering how badly things would have to go for people like Tom Ross to turn on him.

Probably worse than a playoff final to be honest.

Henry is a big fan of NBA. I wonder if there is a connection there.
