So your happy for our manager to say nothing to rally the players and supporters. Your happy for him to announce to the world that we're a carcass of a football club just ripe for the vultures? I think that right now our beloved football club needs a leader with some fight in his belly. Each to their own.

Yeah. Are you incapable of rallying yourself to do you one job as a supporter ?

That's nothing like the reality of the situation.  Do you honestly think that Spurs will be the only club interested in a young player with Jack's talent?  As soon as more than one club are interested, then it becomes a lot more difficult for one club to take the piss.  Every single club in the Premier League an afford him, every single one.  And once we get towards the deadline date in August, we'll start to get much closer towards his market value, whatever that clueless idiot Bruce thinks.  So if Spurs for example, think a derisory offer of £15m will get him, then another club will say, let's try and steal a march for £18m.  If you get three clubs interested in him, he'll be going for £25m minimum.  Assuming there's anybody left at the club who actually knows what they're doing of course.

What Bruce said wasn't the truth, it was the world according to Steve Bruce trying to cover his fat arse.

I can't believe you even believe any of that nonsense yourself.

I'm not someone who needs a rallying call to get behind the villa but I bet there's plenty of people it there undecided about committing to a season ticket. Someone at Villa Park needs to get a grip of the situation and start issuing the battle cry. Can't you see that? The unrelenting negativity coming out of the club right now has got to stop or we are heading into fucking oblivion.

In all honesty, as a supporter no i can't see any need. I don't need telling to turn up. I certainly don't need some bullshit propaganda being shouted at me from the Holte End steps either. Maybe some people do. Fair enough.

I'd like to think anyone with even a casual Villa affinity would already know the dire situation the club is currently in. And if that isn't reason enough to beg, steal or borrow the cash to be there when the club really really needs them i don't know what ever will be.

All those day trippers that managed to find all the £££ for a day out at Wembley but hardly ever bother at any other time could do with having a long hard look in the mirror as well. Anyone can turn up when things are going well or when a new star signing is being unveiled.

But their club needs them more now, and they really shouldn't need telling that unless they've been in the jungle for two months let's be honest

The thing I don't understand about Bruce's interview is his negativity and acceptance of how things are. It sounds like "clubs know our position and will fuck us over" it's basically totally defeatist and exactly the opposite to what we need to hear from the manager right now. Talk like that will undoubtedly push DOWN the price we can get for our best players. Fighting talk is what we need to hear now. "we won't be pushed around" "we will fight to keep our best players" etc etc. He has severely weakened our negotiating stance. If I was Xia I'd be fucking fuming with him right now.

Weren't not going to get market value for anyone. We know that. Why would Spurs give us 40m when they know we're desperate ?

Bruce hasn't told them we're desperate, EVERYONE in the world knows we are. It's not some big secret he's let's slip that's sent shockwaves through football this morning.

'We want to hear the truth'

'Hang on ... Not that much truth!'

We will be pushed around because that's the reality of the situation. Let's imagine for instance Bruce said 'we know what Jack's worth, he wont go for a penny less' then come deadline day we sell him for 20m as it's the only offer on the table. He'd be fucking crucified by the same old people for bullshitting

He really can't win can he ?

If we get one offer of 7m for Chester before the deadline, he'll be gone. Doesn't matter if he's worth twice that.

That's the reality of the situation.

i agree with a lot of your negativity about our situation, its the worst i've ever known

what i don't understand is you keep telling us what a desperate situation we are in yet still want one of the chief architects who got us there to stay on

That makes absolutely no sense at all.

I haven't seen the sky interview, but I assume if he's named payers they are Jack and Chester.  If anybody seriously thought we'd keep those two while we are in this massive hole it's clear that they were deluding themselves.  It's a shit sandwich that nobody wants to eat, but it was obvious.  As for the fees we might get, they won't be top dollar, again because of the fact that clubs know our situation, probably in loads more detail than we do anyway.  So, the 'bidding war' will start low (and the end price lower than it would be if the bidding started higher).

It is depressing, but I just don't know who people think we'd get in his place with the club being in such a mess.  I hope it will garner a backs against the wall all for one attitude.  Cardiff had a shite team ad got promoted off a great attitude and solid defence.  We could so the same with some luck.  Bruce is good at that kind of side.

If only Xia had trusted his instincts and listened to the Rooster's wake up call we wouldn't have suffered such a Dog's dinner of a season.

The chief architect of the fuck up that is Aston Villa in 2018 is Randy Lerner. The people getting it in the neck at the moment are the ones that have tried and are still trying to turn it around. They very nearly pulled it off as well. OK, Xia has half worried everyone to death with his mis management of the finances along the way and Bruce is no Pep or Klopp but if we're on an even keel and we still have plenty of experience and some good youngsters in the squad we just need to 'go again'. We could have a better season than many envisage.
