Fack it......Bruce out!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44603058

As ever won't be a dull moment at Leeds this season.

Bet it was fucking dull watching that shite.

Probably watched up to NYD, they'd scored more league goals than us at that point.

So he likes "taking the game by the scruff of the neck" and "playing it on the carpet"

Not sure what sport he's referring to but it sounds more like wrestling than football. Or, at a stretch, marbles?

the fucker is either going to win the league by January or join the myriad of other Leeds managers sacked after two months

Translator guy said carpet. Probably Spanish word sounded more like that than Grass.

Someone I know who works in a closely related field took me through the figures that are publicly available. Essentially, his view is that the debt is basically to Tony himself, so we are able to pay our real creditors but for FFP we are in the red. However, there is a cash flow problem, which is either down to Tony turning off the tap or him not having access to funds. This is the red flag. The tax bill is an odd one as he says that is just not how the revenue do things usually. When there is a late payment, there is normally a long, protracted period of offers and compromises rather immediate threats of administration etc. This is not an ITK, just a bloke (and a Villa fan) who knows what he's talking about going on what is publicly available. His view is that we are probably not completely fucked, which is great news...

I'm afraid your mate is talking rubbish about HMRC.  The only time you get protracted negotiations is when there's a disputed amount to do with Corporation Tax, eg if there's a disagreement over an item of expense etc.  Corporation tax is due 9 months after the accounting period, and Villa won't be paying anything until hell freezes over as we never make a profit anyway.  PAYE is an easily calculated, non contentious tax that is calculated at the point of deduction snd submitted via an RTI report.  If this isn't paid by the 22nd of the following month, HMRC are all over it like a rash.  With the sort of amount that Villa were behind, they absolutely do get heavy very, very quickly.

I would add that HMRC would have tried to get paid without issuing a Winding up petition.

I have HMRC visit our office around 3-4 times a month for PAYE debts as low as £200 with the threats of winding up the companies we act for.

To them, a company is just a number, they couldn't care less who it is, they will take it down quickly

They fell apart after xmas like they always do sacking managers.

They were probably better to watch than us up to New year though last season (we played much better in second half of the season imo) so was just using the old scoring lots of goals must mean entertaining football line that seems to be popular on here atm. ;)

Houllier used to go back to BMH after a match and watch our games several times over till 3am. Wasn't much to be excited about under him either.

just on the subject of HMRC

iv'e had my own business for 23 years now and been through good and bad times

its not a big business with a turnover of less than 1 million sometimes half that

in all that time i've found my dealings with HMRC to be very helpful (i cant believe i'm saying this) and at times they have been accommodating
i have never not payed mind but in times past have had to ask for extra time and we've always worked something out

i have got an honest face though

I have run a number of small businesses over the last 60 years and have only been in trouble with HMRC twice, once due to the use of an incompetent, alcoholic accountant and once due to theft by an employee.  In both cases we found HMRC to be helpful.

I have got a very dishonest face though.

I've not had any problems with HMRC and I have a alcoholic accountant.
