no matter what happens at the club whether we go into admin or not whether we get taken over or not whether we find the money to buy players or not, sell players or not

whoever the manager is will still be the single most important person at the club

the reason we are here is because of a string of useless managers over many years,
to get out of this shit however bad it ends up being we need to break that cycle

it’s the most important decision we will ever make

Completely agree. It's always the most important decision as the manager is the most important person in the club. It's pointless getting the ship patched up and dragged off the rocks if we haven't got a captain to get it home and it's madness to keep the one that put it there to begin with.

I can only believe if Bruce remains manager the club is up for sale as it's a clear indication of a lack of interest and ambition.

none of this matters - unless we are sold we're fucked. This sin't on any specific ITK but my brother is very senior in international corporate finance  and has heard a few whispers that it's all hand to mouth with Peter robbing Paul to stay afloat day by day.

At this point Bruce in/out is a more relevant question to Bruce himself rather than to the club - over the next few weeks he will be exposed to the brass tacks of the financial situation and may very well take the option to walk away - at this point his stock at this level is still high enough to find another job pretty easily and he might decide being associated with the situation (which he helped create) is only going to harm that.

Personally I am still on the fence regarding him, I can see the stability angle and the need to be a unified club this season which he is pretty good at - what concerns me is his lack of track record with young players & listening to him week after week wibbling about how difficult it is with youngsters in the team.

We need controlling stake significant investment or a sale within the next 4 weeks

Comparing Bruce to his predecessors is a waste of time imo as they weren't managing us in the second division. They'd all have done a lot better if it was games against Brentford, Burton, Rotherham etc instead of Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea and so on. Well apart from RDM who seemed to lose interest and the plot pretty quick. And even if you do try and compare them then it would be hard for them to do any worse than failing to win promotion twice.

The big plus point with Bruce was the unity we seemed to have last season, sadly that may not count for much if a lot of them are gone when we kick off the new season. And from what's been said a lot of the good spirit was down to players like Appleyard and Snodgrass who have already gone.

To varying degrees they were all damaging a basket case club in a massive tailspin from spending our way to champions league glory to 'competing' to 'staying in the league'.

Our managerial alumni wouldn't have all done better IMO.  It's subjective of course, but IMO Sherwood would've been a less experienced Bruce and Garde would've been a less experienced Wolves bloke.  Actually Garde would've made miles more sense last season than now.

It's a matter of timing with managers really.

I am far more worried about the finances than the manager it appears Tony overstretched himself financially to buy Villa and a massive gamble on his part has backfired big time.

It's the best chance they'll ever get.

It seems the perfect match. It wouldn't surprise me if they sell every season ticket. They've done 18,000 before he opened his mouth. Lille was an ego clash, Lazio a two day affair, Marseille got political after one game into the new season. Bilbao are more closer to Leeds. As I've said before, they're going to love him. He'll either break them or make them. My guess is the bastard will make them.

Good for them but it just compounds the dire position we're in. What next an article pointing out how blues and Albion are having a great pre-season and bringing in the players they need for a promotion push!

Meanwhile the Chinese Del boy sells off all future income to pay the gas bill for another week. Of course it's only because the Chinese Government (who probably have never heard of him either) won't let him take any money out of the country.

Someone I know who works in a closely related field took me through the figures that are publicly available. Essentially, his view is that the debt is basically to Tony himself, so we are able to pay our real creditors but for FFP we are in the red. However, there is a cash flow problem, which is either down to Tony turning off the tap or him not having access to funds. This is the red flag. The tax bill is an odd one as he says that is just not how the revenue do things usually. When there is a late payment, there is normally a long, protracted period of offers and compromises rather immediate threats of administration etc. This is not an ITK, just a bloke (and a Villa fan) who knows what he's talking about going on what is publicly available. His view is that we are probably not completely fucked, which is great news...

We're only PROBABLY fucked then? Lol. We need this chancer to get the fuck away from our club asap. And we need investors. I know that's stating the blindingly bleeding obvious but surely someone out there with the wherewithal and the nouse will recognise that ours is a club with massive potential. We have the stadium, the state of the art training ground, the fan base all in place for someone smart enough to unlock all that potential.
