As incandescent as I was and somewhat remain about that first half at Wembley, heaping the continued existence of a football club on one performance seems a tad unfair.

We’re a half arsed club that used to be famous.

If Bruce goes now, we are in big trouble next season. Has play off final to relegation been managed before? We can add it to our list of records.

But that is what the "most lucrative game in world football" effectively means to clubs that put all their stake-money on it; it's been created by the TV companies and is a "winner-takes-all" situation.
I posted a link on here recently to a Grauniad article that analysed the fate of the losers of the Championship play-off final: most have a serious following-season dip in form. So, not only are we not in money-heaven; we are also facing a significant challenge in playing standard next season. This last point is exactly why Fistface has to go. Regardless of the finances, we need a new manager, bringing in new blood, new ideas and a new vision for the squad. And, we need a tangible, aspirational and achievable plan to develop the Villa Way for future squads.

I might not be popular saying this, don’t care really, if he’s up for another crack at it, give Bruce another season. I did think he might resign for personal reasons. He hasn’t, yet. 3rd time lucky?

I think with the latest revelations having Bruce stick around would provide some much needed stability, at least you'd be assured of a relatively organised, hard-working unit under Bruce even if he couldn't take us to the next level.

Also agree with Orange that seems incredibly harsh to dump all our current problems on one performance when as poor as we were, we still could have theoretically won the game.

I very much desire a change of manager, but right now it seems like a terrible idea.

I’d definitely be keeping Bruce now based on the last 24 hours. Now it’s a question of whether he’d stay.

With the ownership / corporate challenges ahead, I think Bruce staying is almost as unlikely as Cardiff winning the Prem next season.

At the moment the absolute last thing we need is to be worrying about or trying to change the one stable position at the club.

It'd be utter madness to try and put a new managerial and coaching staff together right now.

Leave well alone.

I just pray he doesn't want out.

Yeah he’s done a great job with that stability thing

Next season starts 8 weeks Saturday I'd prefer Bruce to stay.
