Not that it matters too much. 57 is nothing in managerial terms really. Anyway, like you said, he enjoys it so fair play to him.

Why shouldn't he carry on? 57 is young for a manager. Bit of an odd post really.

well depends on your viewpoint really. If i was set-up for life i'd probably retire if i knew my career wasn't going anywhere. Long time dead and all that.

Maybe money is not the be all and end all for him. Maybe he enjoys what he does. Wenger and Ferguson carried on for a long time and they were probably in a position where financially they didnt need to work.

In the top 4 of the premier league and/or winning Cups........

I doubt Neil Warnock is short of a bob or two either.

In hindsight it would have benefited us more to give O'Hare and RHM, maybe even a few others more squad time and minutes like Davis had and as I'm sure Green would have enjoyed.
This and hope this is how we go next season.

I'm sure most, if not all of us would want Warnock's bank balance, but he never played at the top level or for anyone of note. He could work another 30 years and probably not get what Bruce was on at Man United in comparative terms. My point is most of the managers of Bruce's age are either at the top of their game or never got the riches of being a top  well-paid player As you say he may well just enjoy it.

I've no idea what Bruce was on at Man Utd but he quit playing for them 22 years ago.

He wants to stay in the game and he may have an idea when to knock it on the head anyway. Let him enjoy it if he still gets a kick out of it.

I'd rather it wasn't at our expense.

Not being told of our budget next season is pretty worrying.

Can only think this is a bit of brinksmanship to try to get him to step down.

He's on holiday and the season only ended a week ago. I wouldn't overly trust an article with zero sources quoted and thinks the play off final was over 2 weeks ago.

Flip it on its head and it would be the dreaded vote of confidence. He's got a contract, what's the issue?

The amount of noise that's being generated outside our walls is ridiculous.

Depends what prompted the article really. SB could've phoned Percy and encouraged him to put an article out like that to put pressure on the club to make a decision either way.

Edit: Didn't see who wrote it but saw it was Telegraph and assumed it would be John Percy who is usually pretty accurate with our stuff.

You'd hope that when he arrived he was aware of the plan to go up by now. Given that, you'd think he'd fall on his sword. Obviously if Tony said "take your time, no problem with FPP", then that's a different matter

Would you fall on your sword and walk away from a pay off?

Luke Edwards wrote it. Strikes me as a load of bollocks. That it says about 'reports' of a consortium being interested even though the club have denied it is another indicator that it's just some hack putting 2 and 2 together based on rumours and coming up with a crock of crap.

The more likely scenario is after what Bruce has gone through we've told him to go and take a break and everything will be talked about when he comes back. But that story doesn't work as clickbait.

If i knew the expectation when i took the job, and i didn't need the money and it wouldn't affect my future chances of employment then i'd like to think so. I'd certainly offer my resignation.
