Shoot him. Must be the first manager to sign a player and then have him flounder.

Yep, we need to put him in his plaice alright.

*opens popcorn*
apparently Xia told Wyness to sack Bruce directly after the Wembley Play Off Final but with all the noise around them it went unheard ....not surprising as Wyness wears a Herring Aid

Doyle-Hayes played against Wigan didn't he?

If I recall he played in the Westwood spot but moved the ball 100 times quicker and in directions other than square.

That’s right if I remember right he was good a closing players down and awrassing defenders.

Was thinking today why Bruce even wants to carry on. I mean he had 9 seasons at the world's richest club getting paid well. He's had 20 years at club management. At 57 most of his contemporaries have buggered off to the golf course and he knows his career is now stuck in the "get promoted/save us from relegation" merry-go-round. Has he got a gambling addiction to pay for?

Nice bit of defamation in that final sentence there.

Why shouldn't he carry on? 57 is young for a manager. Bit of an odd post really.

heh, not really. just wondered.  I mean the likes of pullis you can understand as they never got the millions as a player, and obviously if your his age at the top level of management like mourinho its ambition, but y'know Bruce.....he's never going to get the big gigs now.

well depends on your viewpoint really. If i was set-up for life i'd probably retire if i knew my career wasn't going anywhere. Long time dead and all that.

He's got the biggest job in football right now.

Maybe money is not the be all and end all for him. Maybe he enjoys what he does. Wenger and Ferguson carried on for a long time and they were probably in a position where financially they didnt need to work.

well ferguson and wenger are the level up. That's not a level Bruce is ever going to get to now with the best will in the world. you know getting an offer from PSG or Juventus is a bit different  from being asked to save say Huddersfield from relegation.

At the end of the day, Bruce is a very wealthy man but enjoys the challenge of football management. He get's offered jobs and probably will do again when he leaves us. Fair play to him if he still enjoys it.

yeah if he enjoys it and people will employ him them then fair play, but you look around in the championship and he's the oldest manager apart from Pullis.  In fact there's only 6 older managers than him in the entire 4 leagues
