Can't see Ian Holloway wanting the job, Richard E. Aren't we're too half-arsed for him? Would be ironic, though, if he ended up at us!

Dean Smith sounds like a great idea, and he took Walsall to Wembley and Brentford close to the playoffs, but from my Twitter timeline while he was at Bescot he used to get pelters. Unimaginative, unable to react to circumstance, that kind of thing. My heart says yes, my head says different, but I can't really put my finger on why.

I wouldn’t rule out Dr Tone offering the top job to Terry. Just a hunch.

We should go and give it to Smith tomorrow. Who knows his style might even get McCormack scoring goals again. We are so poor going forward that a manager with any idea of style of play would improve us. At the back we have to rebuild with nightingale, which is a worry. Need a keeper and 2 centre halves for nothing basically. If we can keep Grealish, integrate some youth and get some legs into the team we can still do it next season.

Has to be Dean Smith for me

On the basis of what? I don’t get the love in for this guy. Where is his track record of achievement?
Yes, it was so fucking frustrating.  At one point we went back to the keeper from the halfway line.

Dean Smith has Brentford way above where they should be. Yes from me.

I hate to depress people any further, but Ian Holloway, Alan Pardew, Sam Allardyce and Mick McCarthy are all available for an immediate start.
Allardyce & McCarthy i'd put in the same bracket as TSM1 - I wouldnt be happy but i'd be willing to give them a go. As for the other two if either rocked up to Villa Park as manager then that would be me done until their inevitable sackings four months down the line >:(

Steve has given it his best shot under quite horrific circumstances for him personally. However, I believe for the good of the club, he should be relieved of his duties immediately. There's no point blundering into another campaign with scant attacking options and no plan B if things go wrong.

A fresh perspective and a rebuild is all the club should focus on now. IMO of course.

I really wouldn't want to just ''give someone a go'' at managing us. It's that kind of half arsed attitude that's lead us to appointing Sherwood, Di Matteo, relegation and having shite hawks like Richards at the club.

That’s my take on it subject to a suitable alternative being out there and willing to take it on.

Giving someone new and inexperienced but with a bit of vision and coaching ability a go is also the kind of attitude which has taken clubs like Burnley and Bournemouth sailing way above us.

Someone mentioned David Moyes yesterday.

I nearly threw up.

For me, it's Dean Smith for several reasons, none of which involve the club he supports.

I don’t mean any disrespect with this, but Bruce is 57, so it’s not exactly unusual to have lost one or both parents by that age.

And it's totally irrelevant as a consideration in terms of whether he should keep his job anyway.
