I hope whatever they decide to so, they sit down and think about it and not make any rash decisions, although I would guess they have discussed what they would do prior to yesterday happening. I think a new direction and a change is probably right thing to do now but there are people who would like to see Bruce have another crack at it and keep it as settled as possible and I get that as well. Whatever happens, it's going to be an interesting summer.

The remit has always been promotion after 2 seasons.

Not happened. A new direction is required

He stays , the fans will go.   Average crowds down to c25k.   The away following will dwindle.
It would be bewildering stupidity to keep a manager that has tactical nouse of a bowl of custard.

I doubt the away support would dwindle. The home attendance may be slightly affected maybe.

I think any other team than Fulham we’d have beaten but for tactics alone he has to go. We’ve got s good mentality now but need to finesse it but also win ugly. He can win ugly but we need more. My worry is there is no one better lined up. We can’t be taking a punt now.

I’m not sure I necessarily buy into this ‘the job is too big for x’ thing. Is it a big job anymore? We’re an upper end Championship side.

Big decisions have to be made at the club over the coming weeks, quite a few of the squad will be off, Snoddy, Onahma Grabban end of loans, Terry will probably go and we are stuck with players such as Micah and Toss McCormack on high wages.

Do we stick with Bruce who has stabilised a club in quick demise or go with someone who will use the younger players more with a better style of play?

I just think he won't fancy it anyway. He'll be asked to keep us in the play-off running with probably none of his premiership loans, maybe a few key players sold and little money to spend on replacements. Sounds like a hiding to nothing to me. If he goes now he can sort of claim a moral victory if not an actual one, and still be employable. Resign now or be sacked in 6 months? A parting of the ways over "differences over the future direction of the club" beckons.

I’m not sure I buy this ‘stabilised’ argument. Yes we got into the promotion mix, but it was basically a plan that was built in short-termism that absolutely had to result in promotion. We didn’t  achieve that and now a huge rebuild is required, I’m not sure we’re anywhere near stable.

By stabilised I mean turning around a club that was rapidly descending into the league below. Yes Villa are a big club but we were dire and in freefall for the past six years.

I want to see better football, so Bruce has to go. Simple equation for me.

Southgate in July?

He's good with the youth.

Why would a World Cup winning manager come to Villa?
