We were 19th when he arrived, not in the bottom 3.

We were in the bottom 3 this season.

Bruce will go if we don't get promoted. He himself knows that isn't open for debate.
[/quote]

Somebody better tell Steve he dosent appear to have got the memo.

“I manage a great club and if it doesn’t go well I will carry on until somebody tells me different,” said Bruce.
“My aim is to carry on and I hope they will give me the opportunity but you’ll have to ask other people.
“I do think we’re improving, the club is in better shape, but if it goes wrong for us that’s for others to call.
“But my intention would be to carry on and take the club forward. I think we’ve improved. Whether we’ve improved enough we will know in the next two weeks.
“I’ve got no intention of going anywhere if it goes t***-up!”

I know but Stuart told us all to remember we were in the bottom 3 when Bruce arrived, we weren't.

If I recall correctly, I think we did drop into the bottom three as other clubs played before us, before Bruce took us for his first game.  We got straight back out of the bottom three though and then climbed and climbed.

I doubt it.

I can assure you he does.

Who do we go for if he does go Chelts?  Who is out there who will do a better job?

Maybe we should look at a bigger team in a tinpot league, lets say Porto, and we sign their manager, it's pretty much what I've suggested whenever this question has been asked, unfortunately Villa weren't the club that went down that route.

I think, because we were the late kick off in his first game against Wolves, we were in the bottom 3 at that point.

Did you also suggest that we get the agent to sign the players to go along with that manager? No, I doubt you did.

That surely depends on how ambitious the club is. It dosnt have to be Mad Mick or fat Sam etc

I will lose a lot of faith if we get rid of him if we don’t go up.  It’s not so much that I think it’s Bruce or nothing.  It’s more a question of yet another spell of upheaval.  And also he has helped bring unity to the club again. Not one of those players aren’t playing for the shirt.  Also he persuaded John Terry to join us for God’s sake.

The team is in a much better state than when he arrived. Sometimes he has frustrated me and I have thought he should be sacked but the club is now going in the right direction. More upheaval might upset that.
If the start of next season sees us in the bottom three of the Premier League or outside of the top three in the Championship it might be time to say goodbye at Christmas. Otherwise he needs some backing and to be allowed to get on with the job.

Thinking back.  At the time I thought MON was all for the club bla bla but as we all found out he was about brand MON.  I think Brucey really does care about every aspect of the club.  I will be genuinely sorry if he leaves under bad circumstances.

We were 19th when he joined - 2 Thursday matches dropped us to 20th - we had the late kickoff on a full programme of Friday matches - Deby leapfrogged us with a win - Wigan drew level with a draw - so we - for a few hours were joint 3rd from bottom - until we got the draw against Wolves later that night

Joint 21st/22nd with Wigan - same pts same GD - till we played Wolves later that night
