no matter what you think of the manager and the pros and cons of what direction you think we are going in,
the day you don't enjoy Villa winning especially to a wonder goal like last night is the day you should just pack it all in and take up watching another sport

agreed - just watched Warnock's post match interview - has he shaved his eyebrows off?

I get the impression looking at Warnock that he does a Drag act in some cabaret hall in Cardiff.

the day you don't enjoy Villa winning especially to a wonder goal like last night is the day you should just pack it all in and take up watching another sport

The goal to win it was brilliant and the result was a much needed one to be certain of top 4 but what I was trying to get at last night is that it didn't really answer any of the problems from the last month or so.  We started terribly, we looked lethargic in the first half and had Johnstone and Elmo to thank for not going in a goal down. The change to trigger us stepping up was Kodjia coming on, which is great and hopefully he can start a few games and give us that extra cutting edge from here but the problem with Snodgrass and Adomah not getting into the game and Grealish having to come far too deep to get involved is still there and a wonder strike from a cleared free kick doesn't change that.

Some people might call that anti-bruce or nihilistic or miserable or whatever else but it's really not intended that way, I'm been a big supporter of Grealish all along and have backed him to be a match winner for us so it'd be ridiculous for me to complain when that happens but I'm still not confident in the playoffs because we haven't addressed the fact that teams know how to nullify us.  I've given up thinking we'll resolve that with training and tactics so I'm just hoping that Kodjia can keep playing like that and be the spark, I don't see anything else that will get us the wins we need to get through the playoffs.

I'd have thought last night was a great boost re. the play offs.

I think we have enough to beat Derby so Cardiff are likely to be the final opponents.  As the game developed we became stronger and worked out how to play them.  I'd be very confident against them on a neutral ground.

big wow. win when it doesn't matter. who cares?

The 30,000 who were there tonight probably did.

more fool them. adds insult to injury imo. We don't just play wolves and cardiff to go up

I enjoyed it. More fool me. You almost sound gutted we won.

Bruce haters hate it when we win as they are only happy when they are hating on Bruce.  More fool the idiots who call themselves Villa fans who are miserable when we win.

As far as I'm concerned I'll enjoy a Villa victory regardless of who it's against as winning is what Football and sport in general is about. If you don't enjoy victories then you have got to ask yourself whether sport is for you because what is the point in bothering if you don't enjoy it when we win.

Well i'm not going to respond to the the first bit. I left school 30 odd years ago so i suggest you keep it for the playground.

I'm annoyed because we had a great chance to overtake cardiff in April. I predicted they'd fade in these games and that's just what happened - 1 point in 9 in fact. By all means celebrate winning but its a pretty hollow victory in my mind. Beating cardiff so fulham can take advantage is a lot different from beating cardiff so we can take advantage. If we'd managed to get motivated against QPR, Hull, Norwich and bolton instead of saving it for the select bunch of teams above us then we'd quite possibly be looking at a 2 point lead over cardiff this morning and it would have been game on. As it is, people treating it like some sort of moral victory against Mr Anti-football, well no-one will care or remember if we're still in this division come May.
I’m not a “Bruce hater” I’m sure he’s a really nice guy but I don’t like his brand of football and I think he’s without doubt the wrong man to take us forward and always was from the second we hired him. That didn’t mean that I want Villa to lose any game anytime. Last nights moment of brilliance got me running and screaming round the living room like a lunatic and I’ve had a massive smile on my face all day even though I’m leaving the country for 10 days. I kinda see where sickbegger is coming from and respect his right to have an opinion which differs from others on here. No Villa fan whether a Bruce fan or not will ever want us to lose

I am sure we would have been in the automatic spots if Kodija had been fit this season. In the games that weren’t going our way, he often made the difference last season and that spark would have seen us over the line by now.

All teams have to cope with injuries but that has been a really tough one for the team, and Steve Bruce.

it's been a long time since i was in school.  You are the one that are miserable about us winning so my 1st point is proved correct by your comments.

People treating it as a Moral Victory again Mr Anti Football?????  No I think you'll find people are treating it as an Actual Victory again Mr Anti Football as we did win the game 1:0.

As you are so offended by the playoffs i do hope you'll be so offended by them that if we get to the final you won't bother getting a ticket.   As has been pointed out in this thread you need a new hobby as this one is clearly not for you.

For as long as I live i'll never see where a villa fan is coming from when they say they don't enjoy a Villa win.

It doesn't matter what league we are in or if it's against the likes of Man Utd or Barca or some lower league team in the cups I will always love a Villa win.  If that ever changes even the smallest amount then I'll know it's time I give up.

Yeah, this has been problematic with most of our recent managers (from MON onwards); with a few exceptions.
Teams in this division are generally good at closing down the oppo and limiting their options with the ball. Wolves and Fulham have the players and the managerial nous to deal with it; teams like Cardiff have been able to 'out-grind' others. We have done neither, in the main.
This is why we need a change of manager once the dust has settled on this season.

One or two of the players do look a bit knackered but the spark that Kodjia gave Villa last night seemed to reinvigorate the likes of Snodgrass and Grabban.  Hopefully, this is the case for the rest of the season.  Albert needs a rest on Friday night, as does Hourihane. Beat Leeds and the play offs are guaranteed, so Kodjia can properly get up to match fitness, Albert can re-find his mojo and Villa win the play offs!!

Play offs are already guaranteed imo

I would still rather someone else was organizing the squad for the play offs.

Prince William didn’t do too badly on Tuesday.
