sickbegger I am disappointed that we have fucked it up recently and like you and many others I blame Bruce but you know what I LOVE VILLA WINNING. Just love it. I don't care where it is when it is and how it is.  I remember being totally dispassionate about tonight's match earlier today but once in my seat and watching those Cardiff fans larging it and their players  up to their dirty tricks all I wanted was to win the match. Didn't care one iota if winning had no impact on our promotion prospects. There is no way I wanted the opposition to leave Villa Park happy. No one can take the win away from us.

big wow. win when it doesn't matter. who cares?

The 30,000 who were there tonight probably did.

more fool them. adds insult to injury imo. We don't just play wolves and cardiff to go up

We've won, that is a good thing and people can take pleasure in it.

If you don't, off you pop.

If we can see it, surely Bruce can?

He can't, there lies the problem. I was one of those that initially thought he "doesn't do tactics" was a flippant response. What a painful lesson.

I really enjoyed tonight, it might not have mattered much in the grand scheme of things, the tactics might have been this that or the other but I loved it. A late winner in front of a fullish VP in good voice.

What’s not to like?

i want to go up son. you seem to be more concerned with victories when it doesn't matter

As we're not guaranteed to be in the play-offs yet, of course it matters.

Yup, sometimes the truth stinks.

Onwards and upwards.

never said it people shouldn't take pleasure, just that it doesn't matter. like winning a battle an hour after you've surrendered.

It's all but secured our placed in the top 6, it's a big step towards being top 4 and the advantage of the second leg at home, it's increased the chances of playing Cardiff rather than Fulham in the play-offs, and having beaten the top 3 at VP shows we have no need to fear anyone over 2 legs and no one will fancy a trip to VP in the play-offs. I reckon it meant something to us and the rest of the season.

You called people who went to Villa Park and enjoyed and cared about a win fools.

Read that back and think about it.

play-offs are a lottery. everyone knows that.. Are they fearing us over 2 legs? nope.

Don’t be daft, any team in the play offs will want to avoid us because on a big night we can beat anyone in this division.

I’m not saying I fancy us but we are the team to avoid.

So would you prefer us to be in the play-offs or not? If yes then tonight meant something.
Would you prefer us to be at home second leg? If yes then tonight meant something.
Would you prefer to play Cardiff or Fulham if we reached the final? If it's Cardiff then tonight meant something.

Just like we would prefer to avoid Fulham, I have little doubt everyone else would prefer to avoid us. They especially wouldn't like to visit a full and up for it VP in the second leg.

You said "who cares" that we won. Which is what Clampy's reply was to.
