We batter Wolves aka Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Brazil 1970's all rolled into one so the next bit is easy. QPR, Bolton and Hull that's 9 points in the bag surely? You'd of thought. Fast forward.... we score 2 fucking goals against such illustrious opposition  and take 1 point from a possible 9. It's a disgraceful shambolic collapse. Bruce's limitations are there for all to see. "that's the championship for ya" Just fuck off with that rubbish will you Steve.
2 goals? - I wish, mate.

We've scored once in these three games; a consolation 88th minute goal against QPR.

Bruce has been clever all season with his use of language to ensure he sees a full season out with the biggest club he's ever likely to manage. "There or thereabouts" "that's the championship" "plenty of points/games to play" "hysteria" etc. All these are distraction comments to take the emphasis away from the poor form displayed by Bruce himself and his team at different points throughout the season. Whatever about his past achievements in the championship, I don't think he has it in him anymore to be consistent over 46 games to be challenging for the top two. I feel Bruce knows this and that the playoffs has mostly been his aim. He will fancy his chances more in the 2 legged semi and one off final, if as likely we makes it to the playoffs. To some extent he's proved he can raise his own and his team's levels in the way he got the team to play against scum and the dogheads. If it was up to me he wouldn't have survived game 6 this season, however we are where we are and he's going nowhere at least until the seasons end. If he fails in the playoffs, in my view that will be 3 failures and he needs to go. Hopefully he will be successful more for Villa's sake than his.

My only real reason for optimism is that Kodjia is back. Seven games to get his eye in.

He looked very rusty last night. Not surprising, of course.

Any talk of sacking the manager makes no sense without also suggesting a replacement. If we can't think of a superior, or even suitable, replacement, then it is unlikely that the powers that be can either.

It is entirely possible that there is a dearth of  good managers out there and that is why the same names keep landing the plum jobs. I mean, who is out there that could be considered an improvement on the current manager and would realistically come here?

Thing is we're not paid to think of a replacement, I doubt any of us would have suggested Wagner if we were Huddersfield fans for example.

I undestand that, but those that are haven't exactly been pulling up trees. And, maybe the reason for that is that the talent just isn't out there? It wouldn't help our cause one iota to sack SB and then hire SBII.

Surely it's better than sticking with someone that has already failed twice. That's obviously if we don't go up.
I have no doubt the talent is out there, finding them is a different matter but people at Villa are very well paid to do that, we're just enthusiastic amateurs. As an example I wouldn't have a clue if there is a highly promising coach in the Athletic Bilbao system, i'd hope someone at VP does though.

With respect that's b******s. We are fans and when we see shit we call it shit. It is not our job to know about replacements etc. This is for professionals at our club like Wyness and Round. They are paid lot of money to do that. And as far as your second comments is .... I can not think of saying anything that would stand me in good light.

The thing is though, Huddersfield's aspirations compared to ours are totally different.

Most managerial appointments end in failure - There are only so many teams that can win things.

I honestly don't know who we could attract to come in but what I am sure about is that I don't want another season with Bruce in charge. I get all the "stability" stuff but it can't be to the detriment of our targets. We've been poor for most of the season, which probably says a lot about the standard of the league. However, I feel that with the players at our disposal, we could and should have been a bit more fluent so that in games like yesterday, we would have found the cutting edge to find a goal.

We're likely going to lose at least 3 of our starting 11, as well as a number of senior squad members. If Bruce can't do it with this seasons squad, I don't hold much hope of him doing so with a weaker one next season.

Their aspirations are the same as ours, and that's hire a good manager. My point though is I highly doubt any of us would have thought of him at the time if we were Huddersfield fans. Doesn't mean the Huddersfield board shouldn't have sacked the bloke before him.

Hogan. Grabban. Adomah. Snodgrass. Grealish. Hourihane.

We should be battering sides when it matters, not struggling to score more than one in three.
