It's really simple. Get us up playing via the automatic two places like we stand a good chance of surviving next season and the job's yours. Fail to get us up and you're sacked. Get us up by struggling through the play offs and looking like we still don't have a plan after over 18 months, a warm hand shake, a cheque in his pocket and directions to Crystal Palace, the Hawthorns or Swansea.

Ok. Being fair then, what is his win ratio against outside top six teams. Because if we are being fair it's hardly as though he has had massive spending power relatively. How is thinking that applying a solution that covers the entire club and addresses the wasteful short term approach which led to our relegation a simplistic view?

How is "spend money, get experienced players and hope they work things out between them" not simplistic?

You expected Bruce to get us promoted last season didn't you. That is simplistic you thought Bruce = instant turn around and promotion at 1st attempt when if you applied some realism that was highly unlikely.

No I didn't and I've said as much repeatedly if you bothered to actually read anything, which is exactly why the whole discussion is so repetitive and dull.  I said that I expected him to have a good go at getting us into the playoffs because, I believe, you wouldn't sack a manager after 11 games in charge and replace him with a 'promotion expert' if you didn't expect that new manager to give you a chance at promotion. If the realistic view was that 13th was going to be a good finish why is it that none of you who are now saying that posted anything of the sort when he arrived? Could it be that you are now saying something with the benefit of hindsight that supports your view but that you didn't actually believe at the time?
