The only real argument for keeping Nan's hair is we can get someone better in the summer rather than now. I really don't want another Bruce MK2 tbh and we all know who of the unemployed will be applying if he goes - another couple of Mr. Promotion chancers. Should have done it in the summer unfortunately.

Without sounding too arrogant, the Villa, with their new wealth, infrastructure, support etc should be able to attract 90% of the managers in this country to come.

depends how much money we have. If we went for dean smith for example (who wouldn't be my choice) Brentford would want a big pay-off. And then you look at where they are currently, would he maybe want to see how he gets on for now? Maybe he'd feel some loyalty to them and not want to walk out on them at the moment. And we probably can't offer him a fortune in transfers anyway -he's gonna be stuck with Bruce's loans. In the summer its always easier to get employed managers, so we could end up with a fat sam or a Moyes which is my worry.

There is no way on earth Dean Smith would turn down the Villa job if offered

which begs the question, if we're such an attraction to managers, how did we end up with Bruce in the first place? lets face it, at the time we all thought Tony was loaded......

No, he made it appear that he was loaded.

Sacking Bruce now is a bit like sacking the lookout on the titanic after it hit the iceberg. Pointless and far too late.

still, from the outside looking in we were in a similar position to what we are now albeit FFP wasn't knocking on the door at the time. I didn't want Bruce before he arrived though i acknowledged he could possibly get us up quick. I thought he was a panic appointment, and i hope the new owners don't make the same mistake.

Not at all like that.

It's never too late but an improvement is urgently required before it is too late !

A terrible analogy. Sacking him is never too late.

We need a new guy in to freshen things up, sometimes football clubs just reach that point.

Nearly two years of SB. Parts of it have been good but much of it have been a grind.

Yes our defence isn't very good but beyond that we have plenty of good players in the final third to actually play some cohesive football.

I really can't believe someone like Dean Smith couldn't coach some good play out of the likes of Grealish and Abraham to get us scoring more so at least we could win some high scoring games up to January when we could sign some defenders.

Keep Bruce and we'll keep plodding along winning and drawing the odd game and this league season will pass us by.

Disagree. This squad has plenty of talent, it needs a structure and game plan to fulfill that talent. The squad is far from hopeless.

At this time of the season id seriously doubt that.  Unless your 90% includes non league and school team managers.

We have far more options in attack than we did last season aswell. Last season Hogan and Davis played loads of games, this season both will be subs at best.

Of course we're weaker at the back, no one can argue against that but guess way football is for next manager to make us more effective in attack so we can win a few high scoring games (like Wigan at home) and get through to January.

That would appear the most logical approach to me.

Fuck off Steve Bruce.

There is a long list of issues and mistakes that have been discussed over and over again, and he makes the same lame excuses to try and justify them, but ultimately the performances and results are not acceptable with the players at his disposal. I just hope the only reason he hasn't been sacked yet is that the new owners are still in the process of lining up his replacement.

Looking at Dean Smith , Whatever it costs to pay Brentford off , we would get it back as Hogan would actually look like a decent player again and his value would go up .

If we cant win games with Abraham, Kodja ,boliase , Grealish , el ghazi etc etc etc , what hope as this manager got.
