Two points from two games against the bottom two teams is dire. He really should have gone before the season started.

I must admit I find him a bit of an enigma.  Sometimes we look like our old selves (very old selves as the we were crap long before he arrived) by giving the best in the league a beating, other times we just can't seem to even do the basics.  He claims his style has been down to the players he has had available, and I was inclined to believe him after the Brentford game now he has a bit more pace, but quite honestly I really don't think he gets the best out of what he has.  Just look at Bielsa, I don't recall Leeds changing too many players but he is getting a tune out of them.

I am prepared to give him one last chance assuming he gets 2 or 3 more in to suit what he wants to do as I do have a bit of sympathy in that he has a very short window in which to build a side again, but I really think he has got to change fast or he will be out.

Didn't see the game today but it sounded like we came out of the blocks pretty quickly again and then faded, so it could be the players are just not doing what he asking them to do

In a nutshell Biesla assessed what he had and coached them how to play , Bruce just goes to the cheque book be it buys or loans and just adds and adds hoping to find something that works .I can't imagine that any team has changed as many players as us in the time he has been here ,he is just like Redknapp in that regard .Even look at his recent comments when asked about getting in players his comment was he was still hoping to work his magic to get more players in ..i'd rather see some magic on the bloody training ground that then is evident in a match !!!!

Also I don't care how good the wingers are in the modern game you need wide players supplemented with fbs who can both attack and defend .AT is not a RB and Hutton slowing down play to come back inside is slowing down attacks on the left side

This won’t stop until he’s gone.
Nice chap but extremely limited football manager. How he is still in charge after the last 2 seasons is ridiculous. The luckiest manager in football.

The Sky report on the game says “before the game Villa manager Steve Bruce was in an animated conversation on the pitch with the clubs new owners “.  Wonder what that wasn’t about?

Their programme notes mention that progress needs to be sustainable. That does not fit with the Bruce mound of signing 6/7/8 players a year, putting their names in a hat and picking a side until something clicks.

Decent managers that have a plan tend to buy players that they think will fit in and compliment the system the team plays, I often get the feeling Bruce brings players in that he thinks are good, and then tries to work out what to do with them.

no owner is going to sack a guy after four games . However, the more the draws go on, the more we are off the pace and that won't be tolerated beyond mid October.

Tell that to Cheltenham Town.

PWS you’ve managed to articulate what I’ve been unable to very well.  Really gets to the heart of the issue and explains the scatter gun signing approach.

It's really not ridiculous that he's still in charge. I just don't think he'll ever be good enough to take us up.

He looked gutted in that aftermatch interview. He was definitely more chipper after the Brentford game. But yes the excuses came out ie 7 games in 21 days blah blah blah

7 games in 21 days and the only team who are even remotely decent are Brentford. The rest are shite and we've struggled.

We're going to find ourselves 7-10 points off the top by October and we'll be playing catch up again like last season.

It is hard to disagree with that assessment. MON fell into that trap a few times too. I think we can forgive Ron Saunders for playing Swain and Evans as defenders however.

Brentford were toothless without that cheating midget who was rightly banned for three games - not that it benefits us.
