We're not stuck with him. The world is a big place and there are bound to be decent, progressive managers outside the UK who'd jump at the chance to manage us.

Any manager worth his salt would twat this league with our squad.

Anyone who wants to defend him today is very brave.

Very similar to Brentford, except Reading were not as adventurous so it gave us less space to move the ball around the defence before getting it forward.

MOTM again the keeper, 2/3 saves to rescue a point. We can sign all these players Bruce has no clue what to do with them.

Groundhog season in the making. We will not get promoted automatically with this manager and his staff.
Even with the embarrassment of riches he has and has had since his fucking arrival.

There are so may progressive, up and coming managers in La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, and our own Championship that would walk on nails to manage Villa if the call came.

Someone at the club needs the gumption to see whats inevitable and tell him to pack his bags. And I know it divides opinion, but the fans need to make themselves heard at home games on this.

I must admit I find him a bit of an enigma.  Sometimes we look like our old selves (very old selves as the we were crap long before he arrived) by giving the best in the league a beating, other times we just can't seem to even do the basics.  He claims his style has been down to the players he has had available, and I was inclined to believe him after the Brentford game now he has a bit more pace, but quite honestly I really don't think he gets the best out of what he has.  Just look at Bielsa, I don't recall Leeds changing too many players but he is getting a tune out of them.

I am prepared to give him one last chance assuming he gets 2 or 3 more in to suit what he wants to do as I do have a bit of sympathy in that he has a very short window in which to build a side again, but I really think he has got to change fast or he will be out.

Didn't see the game today but it sounded like we came out of the blocks pretty quickly again and then faded, so it could be the players are just not doing what he asking them to do

He seems very good at keeping the inadequacy just above the sackable level. It's impressive.

Its Groundhog day, we are going nowhere with this clown. He just cannot change his natural DNA which is just caution. We have a squad that should be playing attacking football and making the opposition worry about us but its the complete opposite, 1 up front who is often completely isolated.

The owners will make the change if this continues and lets be honest we have not played any of the decent teams yet apart from maybe Brentford.

Shocking.

Well yes we were never going to score again so making 2/3 saves stopped us losing the game.

Apart from if he doesn't save one of them the whole game plays out differently from that moment, so he may not even have had to make another save, the penalty would never have happened, it may have kicked us up the backside and we scored 4, we may have conceded eleventy and so on.

All true.  But I can’t criticise the players for missing chances only for not creating them.

So I choose to praise the keeper for making saves!

We should be looking elsewhere because if this carries on we need to sack and replace in about 5 matches. There are too many good teams to go more points off the pace, early as it is.

The Sky report on the game says “before the game Villa manager Steve Bruce was in an animated conversation on the pitch with the clubs new owners “.  Wonder what that wasn’t about?
