The optimism is great.  However, although we are much improved on paper these new players aren't necessarily going to all click in their first appearance. 1-1.

-------------------Johnstone----------------
Bree--------Chester------Baker------Amavi
--------------------Jedinak------------------
-----------Lansbury-------Hourahane------
Adomah--------------------------Bjarneson
-------------------Kodjia--------------------

Subs
Bunn, Elphick, Bacuna, Tshibola, Ayew, Grealish,
Agbonlahor.

This is perfect is you facing a dangerous side like Newcastle or Leeds. Also for some away games.

Against a less dangerous opponent id prefer something like this

-------------------Johnstone----------------
Bree--------Chester------Baker------Amavi
-----------Bacuna----------Hourahane------
------------------Lansbury------------------
Adomah--------------------------Bjarneson
-------------------Kodjia--------------------

Switching those between those two  lineups would give some consistency. Been too many changes in playsystem from game to game but with these  new players we might finally have some stability. Looking forward too rest of season now...even if it might be too late to salvage a PL spot. Just seeing Villa finally win again on a regular basis would be a balm...

I'd go for

-------------Johnstone-------------
Bree----Chester----Baker----Amavi
--------------Jedinak--------------
------Lansbury----Hourihane------
Adomah-------------------Grealish
---------------Kodjia---------------

but suspect the starting line up will include Hutton for Bree, Westwood for Hourihane and Bjarnason for Grealish

I think we could win this by a world record. I'm going with 47.

I can't see Westwood being in there for Hourihane. There's no reason why he can't slot straight in, he's been playing in the league all season and is fully match fit. We've also got a few extra days to train with no game this weekend so I'd definitely expect to see him and Lansbury start.

Yes. 3 new starters and 1 virtually new straight it would be my concern...then again so would playing Westwood!

As I live fairly locally and as Griffin Park is the only London ground I've not visited and as the Villa away allocation has sold out, I innocently phoned up Brentford for a ticket for this one, only to be told that only buyers with a previous history could be sold tickets. The guy told me that as Villa had sold out their away allocation, the home crowd had to be reduced on police advice. Now work that one out if you can. I can't. it seems there are seats available but none to be had - because of our away support?!? I really don't get it. And I'm pissed off because I was looking forward to this one. Any ideas?

If you're little I have 2 kids' tickets that I don't know what to with that I bought from someone on this site.

Thanks for the thought Sexual Ealing. But I'm big - not in size but in years. Guess I'll just have to endure the torture of following it on the commentary.

If it's not going well and we need to turn it around, bring on
Ayew and Grealish for Jedinak and Adomah with Bjarneson moving
to Jedinaks position.

I think this would be my team with the exception of Hutton for Bree, as 3 debutants is more than enough, also Hutton adds experience and doesn't need to attack so much.
Gabby may start instead of Kodija only because of flights as I have no idea when Kodija will get back.
Its good to have so many options for once and all positive ones, as Green is not there but deserves to be considered after last week!

Mahrez is back playing for Leicester in tonight's game so I presume Kodjia will be back in time as well.

I can see us absolutely smashing Brentford: with the new signings RULING the centre of the park. Kodjia will lead the attack like a man demented (after his AFCON disappointment) and it'll be all Villa - as the 11-man Bees defence rock under an unrelenting bombardment.

0-0

Same here but I think we'll concede so 2-49 is my guess.

Kodjia (37)
Hourihane (4)
Hoorihan (3)
Hoorihane (2)
Bjarneson (1)
Bjarnnoson (1)
Bjarnnnuson (1)

Agbonlahor to play 86 minutes and neither score or assist.

Looking forward to seeing the new midfield in action (as its on live in the US) and I'm going for a 0-3 win for the Villa.

Can't these tickets be exchanged at VP for adult ones with the additional fee being paid?

Think the only way to get tickets in the home end is with a Brentford booking history. I know a few who will be in the home end and so maybe that is the police fear, reduce the allocation and it will prevent people sitting in the home end - not that it seems to be working

I have a Brentford booking history from going to see them play against Lambert's Blackburn last March. My aul'fella was over for a visit and they were the closest London team playing at home that day so we chanced it. 0-1, late winner. Almost as grim as watching the Villa, certainly colder.

Anyway, if anyone wants to try using my ref (for the home section obviously), let me know.
