Painty in goal.  Perm any other 10 from 15.  Villa win.

Hope he gets the new lads in for training over the weekend so we can hit the ground running next week.

Away win. A lot of quality in that midfield now, backed with Kodjia up top and somebody can cross the ball from right back, I'm confident we'll start to score goals.

Got to win the next two away games. No ifs, buts or maybes.

We just bought three players who work hard and genuinely enjoy scoring goals. That's such a detachment from where we were in terms of available midfield options and talent not even 2 weeks ago.

My prediction for the line-up is:

Johnstone

Hutton
Elphick (assuming Baker gets injured by Tuesday)
Chester
Amavi

Adomah
Hourihane
Lansbury
Green

Agbonlahor
Kodjia
We would actually have loads of options on the bench to improve things if need be! Notably Adomah, Bjarnason, Grealish and Bree.
How do you think Adomah will deal with this?

9-0 to Brentford and the positivity evaporates in an instant.

As I live fairly locally and as Griffin Park is the only London ground I've not visited and as the Villa away allocation has sold out, I innocently phoned up Brentford for a ticket for this one, only to be told that only buyers with a previous history could be sold tickets. The guy told me that as Villa had sold out their away allocation, the home crowd had to be reduced on police advice. Now work that one out if you can. I can't. it seems there are seats available but none to be had - because of our away support?!? I really don't get it. And I'm pissed off because I was looking forward to this one. Any ideas?

Gabby will start again, expect Kodjia off bench. Sincerely hope Bruce doesn't try pairing them in a front two.

Hutton to keep his place too until he drops a real clanger. 433 I expect, as others have said lots of competition for the front three positions. Grealish and Ayew who have flattered to deceive all season really need to seriously get their act together.

----------------Johnstone
Hutton, Chester, Baker, Amavi
-----Lansbury, Jedinak, Hourihane
Adamoah, Gabby, Green

Think we will get back to winning ways here, a lot more mobility in midfield now. 3-1

Bunn, Bree, Elphick, Bacuna, Grealish, Ayew, Kodjia

Interesting to see whether Bruce throws them all in. Common sense would suggest that they'll be graduall introduced after a few weeks of training. But he chucked Lansbury in after he'd only just signed and been out injured for weeks.

I'd be tempted to put out a side of mostly the players that started against Preston and then change it up in the 2nd half if necessary. 4 new players straight in could go tits up.

I know nothing about any of these new players (much like the ones we signed in the last few windows) so cannot really pass comment on them. One thing, I trust SB though. So if they are good enough for him, they're good enough for me.

Away win - come on Villa FTF! My mate Brentford Matt will hopefully be getting some stick during this one.

Think the only way to get tickets in the home end is with a Brentford booking history. I know a few who will be in the home end and so maybe that is the police fear, reduce the allocation and it will prevent people sitting in the home end - not that it seems to be working
