Article in The Athletic on Hourihane's coaching development and watching of Emery's sessions;

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5476494/2024/05/22/conor-hourihane-unai-emery-barnsley-derby-villa/

"I’ve seen players I shared a dressing room with going to the next level. That’s a testament to the manager and the detail he goes to improving every player."

Just been appointed interim manager at Barnsley until the end of the season. The best of luck to him.

I'm out of the country at the moment. Is there some sort of sponsored twatathon going on over there?

with respect there is a specific thread on ex players as  managers and coaches

I don’t think Hourihane should be on main service user board.
Likes of Douglas Luiz , Jack Grealish get shunted off as do lots of other ex players so can’t discuss them yet Hourihane still remains.

I protest this as has to be a system in place.
Can we move Hourihane of main service user board because it’s unfair and unable to discuss other ex players here so why he ?

Hourihane is one of those players who fans tend to look back fondly on. £2.5m he cost from memory. Hope he does well in his new role.

This topic has been running here in Heroes Discussion since January 2017 and all of a sudden you feel the need to pipe up.

I was just stating my case and respect any choices mods give and decide but it’s always good to have a system for ex players maybe they get given an extra year or season on main board

anyway people all have different views but you can at lleast see it’s confusing to have these different rules for different players  maybe some heroes get to stay but that’s not happening either Hutton , Steer , El Ghazi..

I may be bias but I have Dean Smith on the main page here and all things charlotte but i respect that’s not the way but the great man doesn’t get a slot on the main service user board!

But you're happy to start a topic in Heroes Discussion on Villa related puns.  Make your mind up.

Yet you continually dredge up all your old threads that are irrelevant and nobody has any interest in.

El Ghazi , Grealish , Douglas Luiz , Ashely Young. Albert Adomah I could go on !

And certainly if Hourihane is allowed to hang around on main service boat then Deano has to have a thread reinstated to here as he’s the guy that got us back to the Prem and it still wrangles with me that Steven Gerrard replaced him!!

It was magnificent to see Deano and Emery together at Villa Park and I do feel Smith will be back in some capacity one day
Look at Little and Taylor and Elmo too.
Yes I can see Deano involved again one day.

I bring up plenty of relevancy and also all sorts of thread which aren’t mine and ones you call mine are actually created for all to discuss . So stop being completely unfair .
and maybe i am confused as well because no one mentioned Tielemans all summer !

Anyway I know I do things for the greater good and to bring about discussion and debate which people may not have considered or I just showing foresight to bring to prominence!
