If Swansea go up they'll have the cash to be generous. £5m at least?

Isn't he in the last year of his deal, so would go for free?

I don't think we'd jeopardise his transfer for the sake of a squeezing too much fat out of the bacon.  He's persona non grata in terms of appearances at VP so his wage off the books is a bonus, but a few quid to say thanks would be welcome.

If Swansea get promoted and want to buy Conor then it’s a similar scenario to Mings with us. Considering what Bournemouth managed to squeeze out of us I’d be looking for a fair bit more than £5m for Conor, even allowing for the age difference.

Going by other transfer business, I'm sure we'll handle it professionally, quietly and agree a fee that all parties can be happy with. There's no point in acting like Daniel Levy because one day, they might have a player that we want and we'll want to handle things the right way.

Daniel James before he went to Man United would have been a better shout.

Another Conor assist.

He's just an 'end-product' machine

A while back, I think during the summer before our 2nd year in the championship, there being a post about which of our players would be wanted by premier league teams and the majority consensus was pretty much non of them. At the time I posted something along the lines of a relegation battling team team would take a player like him because he will score and create chances even if is all round game isn't good enough. I've never changed from that opinion, he's a great squad player for a team like we were last season where he can come in a change a game a few times a season. In the championship if you play to his strengths I think he is easily good enough to get 10-15 goals and assists a season and that is enough to make the difference. He's the opposite of players like Adama who look like they should be hugely threatening but just don't turn that into goals or assists enough.

Or put another way, he's not a defensive midfielder.

Or put another way, he's found the level at which he can excel.
