Very good player in a top 6 championship side and ok for a premier league team in the bottom half. He’s a squad player for where we are now. He never let us down and is a model pro and if he leaves in the summer he’ll go with my hearty thanks and as part of the “run of 10” and promotion winning team and that’s a good chapter to be in as the history of the club is written.

More than that; we wouldn't have survived last season without him.

It is a sign that we have lost a game when we get comments on what a good player the "ghost " is !!

If we want to go down the route of would not survived last season without him you could say the same about the goals that Wesley scored for us?

You could, and you'd be correct.

ah, typical Villa - as players are injured or loaned out then seem to improve......

I'm expecting Wesley to come back as good as Harry Kane and Hourihane will be the new Iniesta.

Can't wait.

Has anyone said anything controversial here?

He's too good for the Championship but not good enough for where we're trying to get to. But at the moment, with Barkley playing the way he is, Hourihane would be another good option from the bench.

This is what people were saying before he left for Swansea isn't it?

Hologram wouldn't be any use as a Barkley replacement. Neither are good enough. Ramsay and or sanson are the viable candidates for a first team slot. Even chumbueke looks like a cracking prospect with the physicality to cope right now.. I must learn to spell his name though.

Only if you think the players used instead of Conor and Moraes would have been worse. Marvellous and Keinan....yeah, we'd have been fcuked alright.

I'm looking forward (not) to the nicknames sid1964 and telfordvilla come up with for the likes of Barkley and the rest of our players They're just soooo entertaining!

Sometimes I wonder why I left Telford so soon.

Maybe learn how to spell Hourihane right before attempting to spell Chukwuemeka.

We should have kept him long enough to teach somebody else how to take corners.
