My ITK daughter who looks after one of their children told me he was due to move on 3 weeks ago but it fell through as a deal to bring a player in fell through.
No details on which player coming in or where he was due to go.
That's as close to an ITK player info I've ever had and it didn't materialise

Just checked and he did come in at the same time as Bree - who we probably paid  Barnsley more for.

There are certain players that have played for villa over the years, that wouldn’t be considered in the list of villas greatest players, but live in the memory positively none the less. Mainly because they were half decent, had some really good moments and above all seemed to really care and gave everything for the club. Thinking the likes of Chris Price, Alan Wright, Gary Thompson and Connor for me fits into this bracket. He really has been integral to us getting up and staying up and our re-emergence in the last 2 or 3 years, absolute class act and I will always remember standing almost in line with him as he hit that sweet equaliser against the baggies in the play off semi final.

Iknow that feeling: I still vividly remember Chris Nicholl's screamer at Old Trafford in the 2nd replay of the league Cup final.

Given the position, I assume that would have been around the time that Ward-Prowse's agent decided that Southampton had added enough zeroes to his new contract.

He's given his all, helped us back up and to stay up, and has never moaned once. He's a good lad, and I hope he gets a move that suits him soon.

29 goals in 150 games and lots of crackers amongst them. A favourite was the last minute free kick at Blackburn bent round the wall but the goal against Albion will live long in the memory. Turned the whole tie round.

I’ve said many times I am a massive fan of his. He is a proper pro. He was excellent last night, not because of his play specially which was very good, but because he was a leader of young footballers starting their along their path in the game. He would have said the right things to all of them. Like you, i want the same for him. He deserves better than being sat on our PL bench or not in the squad every week. He could do a solid job a little further down; in the PL or a top side in the Championship.

I'll always remember him for the Holte End goals vs Blues and Albion plus the hat trick vs Norwich.

I always liked him - a good player for a lower Prem side or top Championship side - he's had a good career

I'm also a massive fan. If he isn't offered what he wants elsewhere I'd be happy to keep him for another year. I'd guess that he might get more game time than currently looks available to him.

Conor Hourihane is close to joining Sheffield United on loan.
Well good luck there.
It looked very much like his last game for Villa when he played as captain Vs Barrow way he gave his shirt to a kid in the Villa fans and how he was looking emotional with Smith speaking to him walking off pitch end of game.
There was a mutual respect and good acknowledgement

Think the loan is an honourable for Conor as he's out of contract end of season and will be rewarded with a loyalty bonus for seeing his contract out.

Brilliant pro. And yeah the top end Championship clubs and some suitable Prem clubs are his level . With the right fit he's good enough in Prem (maybe not ones for pushing Europe) but good move for all parties this one.
Well played.

Good luck Conor, but another illustration of why we need another midfielder.
