Following an unfortunate mispronunciation by the MC at half time today, for the first time ever I regretted not being on Twitter as I couldn't enter the competition to win the prize of shitting next to Dr Tone at the next home game. Bet the toilet paper would have been something else as well....

Literally just got back in as trains headed sarf were buggered from 7pm onwards it seemed, especially as some smart bods decided to trespass over the train tracks near Milton Keynes. Decent 1st half but Westwood gifted them their goal, second half we were competent if not spectacular and their support got throughly unpleasant outside the away end after the match. Nice to have an hour or two in the city centre too where the German Christmas market was.

Watched the highlights of the day on Ch5, Christ and I thought BBC pundits were bad. Jamie O'Hara won't be getting another gig I hope.

Must admit I am disappointed Gestede has not been ahead of your man the last two games, was stationary at Brighton station and thought my lad was drunk when he told me Gabby was starting.

Chester looked completely at fault for their goal to me, Micah Richards esque stuff running out to the ball leaving Lambert behind him
Westwood was completely at fault in that instance and Chester had to rush out and it was Hutton who was found wanting in not covering.

Second half was poor but the result was all that mattered. I actually thought we missed Baker and that's something I never thought I'd ever say. Keep it up Steve.
baker's a decent player, I've always thought. Prone to make a couple of mistakes a match, but mostly reliable. I hope a successful season in the championship will give him the confidence to raise his game to premiership level next season, assuming we scrape back up.

I don't like this Oasis bollocks at the end though.

If they play DLBIA every time we win at home, I hope we're all thoroughly sick of it by the end of the season! You just gotta roll with it... ;)

Whatever.

I'm going to repeat my suggestion for The Twang's "Either Way" for the following reasons:

Brummie band
Lead singer is a big Villa fan
The chorus of "I feel so much better today, chase the bad things away" is MUCH more appropriate than the chorus to Don't Look Back In anger.  In fact most of the lyrics seem kind of fitting.
The chorus is a bit of a laddish chant that's easy to sing and would catch on I reckon.

Yeah I feel better today, I think that shit was just a phase,
My whole outlook's changed, I've even stopped feelin' strange.
I can understand why you was mad now,
Why should you be the one who has to loose out, just 'cause I'm on one?
I said "I'm always gonna have shit going on!"

I feel so much better today, chase the bad things away.

I was glad I turned the corner man, 'cause I was sick of feelin' rough
I was getting paranoid about the silliest of stuff.
I was at me wit?s end pulling my hair out, I'd just about had enough.
And all I needed was just a hug and that little bit of love.

I feel so much better today, chase the bad things away.

And I really do feel so much better, I really do feel so much better.
And I've gotta find my phone to tell yer,
Maybe even write you a love letter.
Either way I've gotta tell ya, either way I've gotta tell ya,

I feel so much better today, I've chased the bad things away.

And yeah I really do feel better and it almost don?t feel right,
So I'm gonna store this thought away for a bit,
And I'm not saying it ain't gonna be hard at times,
'Cause it's always your favourite top you bin,
But think man it could have been your skin.
And I think we might just be OK, but what does it matter either way,
'Cause she's the one that's always there.
Yeah she's the one that always cares.
Yeah she's the one that always there.
'cause your the one that always cares.
I love ya.
I've gotta find my phone to tell 'er
Ah, maybe even write you a love letter.
Ah, either way I've gotta tell ya, either way I've gotta tell ya,
Ah either way I've gotta tell ya, either way I've gotta tell ya,
Either way either way either way (lots of either ways)

Lovely. I'm down with that. I've heard it loads of times but the lyrics hadn't really sunk in. Very relevant.
i love the Twang. This would get my vote. Shame about the second album...

Concerned that Tshibola is not even on the bench? Would've been a good option to bring on in the second half for Westwood who I thought looked too lightweight, especially being out-muscled for their goal.

This.  I've no idea why he can't get a game.

Quite simply he is injured!

I did see him photographed training with the squad immediately prior to the Brighton game on the club site.  I assumed that he was fit and for some reason not in favour?

Saw none of it, relied on BBC and Sky text, but 3 points is all that matters. Hope Brucey plays it clever in January, get some loans in and keep the majority of the money for Prem quality for next August, come on Villa.

Other than Westwood's sloppiness leading up to their goal, I thought we  played pretty well all game. Picking a MOTM was a tough choice between Grealish and Jedinak, the latter who's signing might well be a massive part of helping us back up.

I didn't see the game but for his sloppiness there was a few more passes that needed to happen before they scored. You could argue Hutton should have tucked in more and as soon as we lost the ball we should have looked to press the man on the ball sooner and tuck in the full backs.

There was a lovely moment second half where Hutton really got stuck in after losing the ball and won it back to the delight of the crowd. Both full backs were excellent yesterday I thought.
