It was a good game today.

Yeah a few fouls here and there but no horrible challenges just cynical trips. Eventually one Cardiff player was going to go.

I actually thought Cardiff were more dangerous first half, second half we sat back but I never really felt in much danger they were going to score as we defender the throw ins and corners very well today.

We now know how to play at this level now as a team, probably too late for automatic but I fully expect us to be in the play offs.

Amavi MOTM for me with Chester and Jedinak terrific aswell. Ayew and Jack good in spells.

Most cynical team for me this season was Forest, they were a bunch of time wasting cnuts from the first minute. It's a typical uncompromising Warnock side of course but they played some decent stuff first half.

Probably in the minority but I quite like him....his book was a good read.

Enjoyable game today. Both teams seemed to look to win the game. They were typical Warnock team. Many positives to take from today.

I'm pretty certain we'll make at least the playoffs.

My only concern is there are periods in the game where we just don't get it together. So far we've managed to get away with it, but it's something Bruce knows (or at least he gives that impression). I know it's not going to happen where we're in control for 90 mins, but the open ring 5 mins in the first half then a good 25ish mins in the second half we did nothing.

Still, don't want to take away anything from a team Bruce is turning into a good team.

If only he'd been here from the start...

Oh, and the way Jack Grealish run over the players leg to win the penalty was hilarious!

As my brother said, it was like Sensible Soccer when somebody did a sliding tackle and you could deliberately run over it and get the foul (and player sent off on occasions).

If we hadn't dropped so many fucking points early on we could be in with a shout of winning the league.

Those careless late goals conceded.

Yes, but RDM would still be in the job.

Which if we'd held onto all the leads we had under him we'd be delighted with.

Good point.

Ayew - what of merit did you see in his performance?  I thought he was shite from start to finish

First half I thought Jordan keep the ball well and started our good attacking moves, he slid the ball through for Amavi's run for the first goal for example. Second half I agree he was shite and deserved to be subbed.

People need to stick with him though....I know we all thought he'd ripped up this division but he's still a player with good intelligence on the ball (most of the time) and often plays the part in our moves. A few more goals would be nice though.

I don't like this Oasis bollocks at the end though.

If they play DLBIA every time we win at home, I hope we're all thoroughly sick of it by the end of the season! You just gotta roll with it... ;)

Whatever.

I'm going to repeat my suggestion for The Twang's "Either Way" for the following reasons:

Brummie band
Lead singer is a big Villa fan
The chorus of "I feel so much better today, chase the bad things away" is MUCH more appropriate than the chorus to Don't Look Back In anger.  In fact most of the lyrics seem kind of fitting.
The chorus is a bit of a laddish chant that's easy to sing and would catch on I reckon.

Yeah I feel better today, I think that shit was just a phase,
My whole outlook's changed, I've even stopped feelin' strange.
I can understand why you was mad now,
Why should you be the one who has to loose out, just 'cause I'm on one?
I said "I'm always gonna have shit going on!"

I feel so much better today, chase the bad things away.

I was glad I turned the corner man, 'cause I was sick of feelin' rough
I was getting paranoid about the silliest of stuff.
I was at me wit?s end pulling my hair out, I'd just about had enough.
And all I needed was just a hug and that little bit of love.

I feel so much better today, chase the bad things away.

And I really do feel so much better, I really do feel so much better.
And I've gotta find my phone to tell yer,
Maybe even write you a love letter.
Either way I've gotta tell ya, either way I've gotta tell ya,

I feel so much better today, I've chased the bad things away.

And yeah I really do feel better and it almost don?t feel right,
So I'm gonna store this thought away for a bit,
And I'm not saying it ain't gonna be hard at times,
'Cause it's always your favourite top you bin,
But think man it could have been your skin.
And I think we might just be OK, but what does it matter either way,
'Cause she's the one that's always there.
Yeah she's the one that always cares.
Yeah she's the one that always there.
'cause your the one that always cares.
I love ya.
I've gotta find my phone to tell 'er
Ah, maybe even write you a love letter.
Ah, either way I've gotta tell ya, either way I've gotta tell ya,
Ah either way I've gotta tell ya, either way I've gotta tell ya,
Either way either way either way (lots of either ways)

Lovely. I'm down with that. I've heard it loads of times but the lyrics hadn't really sunk in. Very relevant.

On a winning run maybe keep DLBIA at the end because it seems to set up the next one.
Superstitious? Very!
I like Risso's song but I don't think we should mess with success for as long as this lasts.

Another great weekend, Villa on the up! Well done to the team, the coaches, Steve Bruce and everybody at Villa cheering on today. :)

What a fucking dirty team they are and what an absolute cockend of a man Colin Wanker is. I thought we were good in the first half, not so good second.

Gollini - 7 solid enough but for all Cardiffs supposed threat he didn't have that much to do, still worrying on crosses at times.
Hutton - 7 typical Hutton, reasonable enough
Chester - 8 superb marshalling of others and very composed.
Baker - 7 solid and dominant but distribution a bit meh.
Amavi - 8 very good defensively, still not as much coming forwards as we know he's capable of.
Jedinak - 9 immense, just fucking immense
Westwood - 5 gave away the goal, and faded from view second half.
Grealish - 8 got through the kicking he took and was always available for linking play and being a threat.
Ayew - 5 not good, was anonymous and the Cardiff right back had him in his pocket.
Kodjia - 8 ran the lines well, good header for his goal, love this fella.
Adomah - 8 calm for his goal and is so consistent.
Elphick - 7 solid

Bruce - 7 let them get at us

Officials - 2 useless absolutely fucking useless.

3 pts, 11th place, going well.

I think we might slowly be turning into a normal club again, thanks to Bruce.  A club that does normal things like win most of the games they should win on paper, and not set club records for shitness, and not invent new records for shitness where none before existed.  A few more wins and I might even start feeling confident before games!

The Gabby substitution? Why ? Can't get my head around why Bruce brought him on.

Hopefully Baker isn't out for long because Mad Tom scares me in defence

Ayew....pass the ball you greedy fecker

Pointy..... what on earth were you playing at ?

Other than that.....good win lads  ;D
