His parting shot..

“It feels like a proper football club and homely and that’s what I like. I like to be appreciated and I think I will definitely get that here....

They'll appreciate you if you move the ball forward now and then.
That's a little direct coming from someone so indirect.

oh give it a fucking rest Jimbo, he's gone now.

No. Tonight I'm going to party like it's 2011, like before we'd ever heard the name Ashley Westwood. Tomorrow I'll forget the wet digestive ever played for us and will never mention him again.

But what a cheeky bastard (him, not you) talking about 'proper clubs' and being appreciated. This club made him rich beyond his fucking dreams and gave him years of support, and all he gave us in return was running about a bit and a lot of pointing and shirking of responsibilities. I was going to wish him well for the future, as long as it's nowhere near B6, but now he can fuck right off.

He never said anything bad about us, as far as I read. He's just being positive about his new club.

For someone who intends to "party", you seem determined to find something to get angry about.

When players like Ireland, N'Zogbia, Richards, Lescott & Gabby have darkened our doors over the last few years and others like Sanchez, Veretout, Gueye, Gil & Traore underperformed and couldn't wait to get out and others like Cissoko, Bennett, Elphick, Gollini, Crespo, Sylla, Tonev, Sinclair, Bunn and Bowery have just been utterly, utterly shit, I find it hard to get overly worked up about Westwood, a long serving player who just kept his head down and did what he could in this basket case of a side over the last 5 years.

He played his part in getting us to where we are now.

So , good luck in the future but you were always a bit lightweight for what we really needed.

westwood done deal  £5 million

Burnley delighted
Good news.  And will be interesting to see if there is a player in there or not.

He's done very well to hide it for the best part of five years if so.

I tend to agree with your general point as to him not really bothering me especially compared with the first group you mentioned.

I don't see the distinction though between Cissokho, Bennett, Elphick et al being shit and Westwood doing 'what he could' i.e. being shit.

I also don't see why Jimbo needs to 'give it a fucking rest' just because he has a different point of view.

£10 bid for Rhodes from Shef Wed accepted, I hope we have got a better striker in Hogan.

I've nothing against you Chris, but maybe it's you that should give it a rest, you seem the only person sensitive to Ashley's criticism.

Just accept that some of us think he's shite and are genuinely thrilled at never having to watch him again,

I've got to be honest I find the Westwood bashing very tedious too.  I avoid the Westwood thread as a consequence so it's doubly annoying when it ends up everywhere else, such as here.

Anyway, have we signed anyone?

Agreed chrisw1. I would rather party over the "team" that hopefully we're trying to put together. Good luck to Westwood. Not good enough for us and certainly not what we want at this point in time. He's moving on as we all should be.

given the choice between Rhodes or Hogan I would go for Hogan

I don't think I've seen either play and if I have didn't really notice them because they have played for poxy little clubs that I don't give shit a about
so my decision is based on a hunch and fuck all knowledge

but it's Hogan for me (and he's younger)
