I get people are hyped for signings but we must also be realistic and say, what about the wages, signing on fees, agents fees etc. If Lansbury, Hogan, Hourihane are on roughly 40k a week added to the McCormack disaster we must have a huge wage bill.

If we sell Westwood, that will help but still if promotion isn't gained at the end of next season worst case, we will be screwed possibly.

It's nothing like MON/Lerner because MON refused to sell the players he spent a fortune on getting in. They just sat on the bench gathering dust and he went out asking for more. The net spend for those who are counting isn't going to be overwhelming and the wages have been offset in part by sales. Plus most importantly there is a togetherness regarding the direction of the club versus what it was when MON ran the show.

This...MON had his say on everything..this time we have good people around Bruce to make decisions and say yes or no. Plus as you said, players were on fortunes, not being played and not being sold, yet still he went asking for more....

If we've given any of the new lot anywhere near 40k a week then we want locking up regardless. I don't believe we have

Ins
Lansbury
Bree
Hourihane
Taylor
Hogan
Johnstone
Bjornason

Outs
Ayew
Gestede
Westwood
Cissokho

Basically we've spent a couple of million  on that lot, very good business on paper. We should bum this division next year.
you missed Bedeau.
I thought Cissokho was a loanee.

If we are signing Scott Hogan for £10m+ I hope we've done our homework, the last thing we need is another striker that in 6 months time achieves nothing more than doubling their body weight and getting stuck in their front door.
Cant we just enjoy the expectation and anticipation before writing this one off ?
I can see why we spent the cash on the other lads this window and I am really optimistic about the new midfield trio, I'm just a bit nervous about spanking double digit on a striker whose CV before Brentford includes Woodley Sports, Rochdale x 2, Hyde and Ashton Utd. Hoping he's more of a Jamie Vardy than Tony Cascarino

We know more about this lad than we ever did before signing Benteke, and look how that worked out.  I have a friend who is a Brentford supporter and he was telling me about this lad last year.  Give him a chance.

Lansbury rumoured to be on 40k, not sure about the others. Crazy money for division 2

Meaning Evil reporting this:

"Aston Villa stand on the verge of signing Brentford striker Scott Hogan - but Jordan Rhodes cannot be completely ruled out just yet.

Bruce has clearly had to make a decision over which of the striker targets he would pursue and while that seems to be Hogan after a Championship record-equalling bid was accepted - Gabby Agbonlahor's injury might have opened the door for a second striker arrival .
Sources close to Middlesbrough suggest that Rhodes would be allowed to leave Teesside on loan with the clock ticking towards deadline."
"Agbonlahor is likely to be out for a number of weeks, while Ross McCormack is set to join a Championship rival on loan. Nottingham Forest are the side most keen to land the Scottish striker."

They also say that Forest are interested in taking Gardner......again!.......Godzvilla!

Just read that Westwood has gone to Burnley for £5 million! Please tell me this isn't fake news.
