Westwood loved playing for Villa. On the day we went down he left the field in tears.  Gabby who is cheered by the moronic majority at the games was in a London hotel with hippy crack and dodgy looking women.  I think as a footballer he has never had a great strength or been coached to a specific role, but he's given his all and i wish him well. There are many to be critical of above Westwood.

Just logged on, another mental day of transfers and speculation. What must Remi Garde be thinking?

I wish I was better

How did I manage to get that much money for winning just 2 games in 20?

Remi was royally shafted, no vaseline, talk about stitched up?! And with the crock of crap we had and those inept lunatics in charge, looking back 2 wins was arguably quite an achievement.  ;-)

Sky Sports News: "Aston Villa favourites to sign Scott Hogan after Wet Spam end interest"

Similar article online but it also adds that Hogan has said that he only wants to move to a Premier League club

I just don't get a good feeling about the Hogan thing.  I think we are being used to get him a premier league move.

If people think that Westwood is one of the worst players they have seen down Villa Park, then I have seen a lot worse than him and a few a still conning a living out of our club.... Gabby / Richards to name but a few.

I feel that Gabby is putting a shift in for us, both on the pitch and in training.  Bruce is nobodies fool and would not suffer anyone taking the P, lightly.

He may well be nowhere near good enough but it may possibly be wrong to suggest that he's conning a living.

I honestly feel that Richards is finished as a footballer at this level.  He is way too big and cannot last more than 45 minutes (if you're lucky).  To compensate this, he looks to play in roles that don't require much running.  Unfortunately, he is not very good in those roles.

We'll see.  I can't see Palace being interested.  West Brom, maybe and Sunderland, who don't look like they'll be PL for long.

It all fits in with what Bruce has been saying, ie the Rhodes thing was dead and we were in for someone who hadn't been mentioned.  There was also the "big name" comment.

The good thing is that we won't have to wait long to find out.

Worst case scenario, it could mean Rhodes.

I just don't get a good feeling about the Hogan thing.  I think we are being used to get him a premier league move.

So, today, Bedeau, Taylor and a forward. Anything else likely? A winger?

Hogan has not specifically said he wants to move to a premier league club, he's said that he wants to play in the premier league and doesn't want to be in the championship much longer, which might well mean that he's happy to come here as we're surely a club which shouldn't be in the championship for very long, especially considering the players we are buying.
Personally I wouldn't be too amazed if Hogan and Rhodes both come if the price is right and if he's going to play with 2 strikers. We only currently have one good one in Kodjia, as McCormack appears to have been condemned, Ayew appears to be off and Gabby is barely a footballer these days.

I think finances wouldn't permit that scenario especially financial fair play.

Dammit we've missed out on Adebayor.

Ulloa would still be a good buy, given the prices quoted of around £5 million.

If we were to get Hogan though, it would have to be him & Kodjia starting, meaning Ulloa may well be jumping out of the frying pan into the fire.

Regardless of Hogan/A.N Other joining, we are still slightly light up front, given we've lost Gestede,Ayew and probably McCormack in this window.  The only back up is Gabby, who, for all his efforts, is not good enough.

Saw a great description of him the other day "If you could get him on a rolling contract, he'd be a world-beater"
