Swansea forums are delighted with the idea of getting rid of Taylor, almost to a man they think he is shit. Ayew for Taylor sounds a terrible deal to me.

I'm far from comfortable with this one.  Leicester fans were the same about De Leat and he looked poor in the few appearances he made for us.

All about opinion I guess, but I thought he looked solid in the games I saw him play.  Losing him was a big blow.

As for Neil Taylor, it looks like it is happening so I'll guess we'll have to wait and see.  For what it's worth, I seem to remember similar comments on here about James Chester.

If having watched all of the Swans games this season my belief was that Taylor was anything other than a cnut masquerading as a LB then I think I'd have to beat the fuck out of myself with a slab of frozen beef. Forget Jordan Ayew, I'd have swapped Taylor for Jordan, you know Katie fucking Price, as ultimately with either of them on the pitch all I could see is a pair of tits. If he just sat on the bench and avoided acting like a petulant child he'd be an improvement. As said though we are now beginning to look as if we have some legs about us for the final third. After all some people have a glass ceiling that can't be shattered and Taylor's was thirty yards shy of the opponent's goal line.

He certainly shattered that glass ceiling against the Russians in Toulouse this summer!!

I thought a good deal of Albion fans thought Chester was a very decent player but played out of position because he isn't a giant and Penis likes lumbering huge centre backs. Swansea fans just seem to think Taylor is crap and would take a tin of sardines for him.

At least he's only gone on loan rather than taking a massive loss on him. Hope he plays regularly and shows his potential.

If we were to sign Taylor would he be the first British Asian to play for Villa?

To make the first team, I think so.

There was a youth player we had many moons ago who went on to have a reasonable career with Bradford, IIRC.

Taylor broke his ankle and apparently he's never been the same since. They really are happy to see the back of him even if he is their third choice left back.

Their winger, Barrow, could also be on his way to Villa Park. Very fast but not a footballer according to their fans.

Sounds like Agbonlahor from day one and Traore from last year. Another adventure.

I'd keep Ayew, I'm not really a fan, and can't see why there is hype about him, but without a replacement coming in (which I'm assuming there isn't at the moment) we need all we can get going forward, especially as McCormack and Agbonlahor won't score.

I genuinely couldn't give two fannies what Swansea fans think of Taylor. If Bruce rates him that's fine by me.

Yeah, what would they know about a player who's played 160 odd matches for them.

I'm sure similar glowing endorsements have been uttered following dodgy deals by O'Leary, O'Neill, Lamberk and some of the other charlatans who have taken the club to the cleaners over the years.

History teaches us that if a deal looks suspect, it generally is.  You don't need Eric Black's 30 years in the game to come to that conclusion.

Bruce has said in his conference this morning that one deal is close that has not been mentioned ??
From ' MOMS'.....re Mystery Man
Judging by the +95% there’s a player currently unaccounted for by the press that is close to joining.

“We’ve got one on the go which is close, which hasn’t been mentioned, so we must be doing something okay,” said Bruce about the possible incoming player.
“It’s the first time we’ve been able to keep our gobs shut for a long time, so I’m delighted about that! That’s made it a bit easier.”
The plot thickens…
