It's irrelevant for the first couple years post relegation.

That's not what the article says.

£83 million loss or £15 million if no equity invested. Maximum loss is assessed in March/April 2017 based on submission relating to two previous seasons plus projection for 2016/17

And if we don't? Bournemouth and Middlesbrough went up while completely ignoring FFP and were fined a tiny percentage of the money that they made through promotion.

So we could aim for promotion in a completely pure, Corinthian way (to be fair to them, like Brighton are trying to adhere to), or just do what pretty much everyone else does and fuck the whole thing off.

Based on the money we've spent suggests we care as much about the Football Leagues FFP as we do about Coventry.

And ever less so since teams who are spending sums akin to a major nations GDP on transfers don't win anything.  Leicester winning the league was nuts and an anomaly, but it shows it can be done without spending big.

We should do by right. As should the FA.

The financial advantage relegated sides have over the rest is doping by numbers really and thats without Xia's largesse (debt fuelled I presume?)

Ayew want's out so no point holding onto him

Do tell ?

Been told that he has made no secret to Villa that if a premiership move was possible then he'd like to talk to the club in question. His agent had actively been speaking to possible suitors for months. Even down to Ayew having a pre Africa. Cup medical so that it would enable him to complete a move this month if one could arise

Not doubting that you've heard that but who would have done the medical?  From what I've read - primarily an article by the Secret Footballer - these are a rubber stamping exercise carried out by the buying club, not a test undertaken by an independent body.

" Doping by numbers"...spot on !........UEFA were all gung ho about FFP , until those paragons of financial  virtue, Man Citeh , threatened them with a massive Law Suit because they ( UEFA )had the temerity to challenge Citeh's non compliance , specifically re the ' Home Grown Players' rule . What happened?, UEFA re-wrote the rules to accomodate Abu Dhabi Citeh  ........Do we want to be like them ?, I would despise us if we did .....   Godzvilla!

I daresay that some bigwig might at some point challenge FFP and the 'transfer window' as restraint of trade. Personally, I think they'd be right.

I agree FFP is pretty irrelevant for clubs who get promoted as shown at Leicester and Bournemouth.

Those that stay down though do run into issues...pretty sure Forest, Blackburn and Bolton have all had transfer embargos places onto them.

Whether we disregard it or not it's vitally important we go up within 18 months otherwise Dr Tony's bold declarations when he came in get a bit more difficult to implement.

Maybe so - but bollocks to them. I'll care the season after we've gone back up.

I'd like to see our net spend figures. It may not be as much as people think. A lot of players sold have raised fairly good money. Gana, Traore, Clark, Okore, Gestede to name a few - £20m plus??

If you read the article there could be severe repercussions. Things have changed this year.

I think we will sell Amavi for big money at some point which will help with it. And McCormack. The squad is at tinkering point almost, maybe a winger and striker away from that, so the summer will be quite quiet i think.
