Ayew looks like a sulky twat

Why is his appearance relevant?

Did I read that SB thinks we lack pace, I think this is right and it hinders Jack. The movement into space in front of him isn't good enough. Even Kodja want the ball to feet and then to run at his man, we dont have anyone making the darting runs into space Jack can pass to. Perversely, the only times we seen flashes of this is when McCormack has played decently.

But Grealish himself lacks pace and adds to our problems in that respect. He also inevitably slows down attacks.  Plus he doesn't seem that keen to play the kid of balls you mention.  His general MO is to do a little shimmy, which either draws a foul, or he gets past his man and then does a safe sideways pass.   He has linked up well with McCormack once or twice with some little one twos, but they are few and far between.

I don't get some people's thinking that just because we've brought some new players in, everything's going to be fine and we can afford to let some good players go.

We're not talking about selling Gordon Cowans and David Platt. We're talking about Jack.

Yeah but it's potentially like only ever putting pepper on your food and when you finally get some salt you get rid of the pepper.

We just bought some decent CMs and now we have folks petitioning for Jack to go?

In every Pre-Match thread 95% of members put Jack in the starting XI.

We beg for collective creativity from the midfield and now we want Jack to go?

The fact the fucking BORO go from chasing Jesé, who is a damn good player, to Jack should speak volumes. Why in the hell would we get rid of an academy player that for a while was the only player in the squad that could trap a football, dribble past a defender and play fluid from box to box.

Fickle is the very definition of this conversation. So pathetic.

That's a bit drama queen isn't it?
Who's is petitioning for him to go? Just saying it wouldn't bother us if he did.
I don't think 95% of pre-match threads do include him.
I haven't seen much creativity from Grealish, and don't really expect to, that's exactly why it wouldn't bother me if we sold him.
This would be Boro who signed Gestede and Traore who were both shite to mediocre for us?
Could you give some examples of his fluid box to box play as I'm struggling to remember any.
There is nothing more pathetic than dragging up O'Dreary's favourite excuse as a put-down, especially when it could never apply to a conversation where two groups are expressing opposing opinions.

It would bother me if he went.

He's still too young to expect him to be dominating game after game; and let's also remember he has never played in a competent midfield over a number of games; or had a decent run of games.

Maybe because when his body language is suggesting he'd rather be somewhere else, he usually plays like he'd rather be somewhere else. This has been the case a few times this season, particularly Bristol City away where he was a disgrace.

He played in a competent midfield for England U21's and showed what he can do.

I don't really get this at all.
Do we need to bring money in?
Are we replete in the number of players?
Do we think that our squad needs to be more 'mature' in some way?
Are we no longer a club that develops players?

... we don't need to sell any players, unless - like McCormack - there is a large sum of money invested in a 'wantaway'.

I hope that Grealish stays, continues to learn, benefits from having some new midfielders around him and starts to make a more material contribution in the form of assists and goals.

I wouldn't be against him going out on loan.

I know that's not how these things usually work:  The loan market generally exists to give a player getting limited game time more opportunities at a level or two down.

But some of the lower half Prem sides might go for it. For Boro, I don't think spending £15 million + (which is what it should take -minimum- to let him go permanently) is wise.  There's a distinct possibility they will be back in the Championship next season. But a short-term loan might benefit all sides.

Being brutally honest, the more I see of Grealish, the less convinced I am. A few nice touches here and there and some good finishes this season. But against the plodders in this division he should be running the show. All to often he is on the fringes, with little > no impact. When he initially broke through in 14/15 he looked a find. But even allowing for the difficult second season, he has rarely looked that good since. I allow for the possibility that being at a club as schizophrenic  as ours in recent seasons has had an impact on that (the better players usually find a way, mind) so a temporary change of scenery at a more settled club could work.

Gives him the chance to develop in a less pressured atmosphere than his hometown club. If he comes back in good form and can carry that on with us-happy days. Failing that, he's put himself in the shop window for a better Premiership side.

But If he was to make little impact in that scenario too, we might have to face the prospect that he isn't much cop.

If I was Steve Bruce I would get John Robertson in coaching staff to work on our wingers and full backs. I think he still live in Birmingham.
