According to The Mail, we are battling Birmingham City to sign Max Gradel. Is it right to nearly piss your pants when you read stuff like that?

This sounds like one of those classic Small Heath PR stunts. Sign some player no one's heard of and create an imaginary link with Villa to make it look like they've beat the us to his signing. Que several thousand semi errections in the Bordesley Green area.

???? Had you heard of Birkir Bjarnason;  James Bree and Connor Hourihan  a month ago?

No, but we didn't feel the need to create an imaginary link to Small Heath so I don't understand your point.

I agree with Tony this season apart from the game at Brighton when Jack came on as sub, I have not really seen anything that has made me go wow what a player

I was hoping that he would be a difference maker this season, I am yet to be convinced!

Would have to agree.  It might also be that he is in a comfort zone at Villa and in Birmingham and needs a move away to kickstart his career.

A bit too early though to sell him.

He is  targeted by the opposition and consistently draws fouls.
Let's see him with decent players around him.

You could say that about the whole team!

We'd be even worse off this season if it wasn't for Grealish. I don't understand the clamour from some fans to see the back of him.

Agree, just as some say he is hyped up, the same is true with the criticism.
Some of the stick he got from some supporters on Saturday was shocking.

I think it's to do with pragmatism SH. We are not infinitely resourced and some fans believe if we get the right money for him then let him go, especially since he's never put in consistently decent performances. Look how we have reinvested the Gestede transfer fee. Any other problems let me know.

And I know everyone's entitled to a view, but I'm flabbergasted that so many want to see the back of him because he hasn't lived up to the hype. The kid is 21 with his whole career ahead of him. Honestly some people can't see further than the end of their noses.

But these new players haven't knocked a ball for us yet, so none of us know if they're good signings yet.

I completely agree but Bruce has rebuilt in an area we were/are desperately poor in by using the funds from Gestede. The jury is still out on Ayew and Jack and there is the possibility that another club may offer more than their worth.

I don't get some people's thinking that just because we've brought some new players in, everything's going to be fine and we can afford to let some good players go.

We're not talking about selling Gordon Cowans and David Platt. We're talking about Jack.

The jury isn't out on either Grealish or Ayew.

Ayew isn't up to much.  We know Grealish 'could be' the real deal.

Depends on how much the management value the 'could be'.

I'm just saying he's a 21 year old who we haven't seen the best of consistently yet. That's no reason to let him go and be a success anywhere else.

I don't want to see Grealish leave, he would be very low on my list of who I want to go (Gabby is top of my list to go)

I just want to see him show more than what he is currently doing, (Bruce must have the same opinion as he does leave him on the bench regularly), he should be a stand out player in this division, if he has aspirations to play for his country he needs to up his game.
