Hourihane could score 10 from midfield and set up a further 10 to 15 over a season with his ability from dead balls. I would say he has the potential to make a huge impact. Kodjia like one. Chester, Baker, Angie, Hourihane, Jedinak and Kodjia down the spine of the side is about as good as it gets in this division. Add in Adomah and Amavi and Bree if as good as he's billed, 9 of the side is easy top 3 or 4 quality in this league.  Just the keeper and 2nd striker to sort.

I think we may well be looking for a LB in the summer.  Amavi has always stated that he'll see this season out (that's put the kiss of death on it).  He's never spoken further than that and I suspect that he'd like to move on if the opportunity arose and we are still in this division.  I wonder whether Adoma might be under threat in the summer too?  Jedinak certainly needs upgrading-He'll be another year older and slower.  He needs to be used as a squad player next season.

I do think that these 2 midfield signings are immense for us and that we'll be in for a quieter summer this time around.

Wouldn't be overly disappointed to see Amavi go especially if we got a good fee for him.  Also think Jedinak will probably need to be replaced as well.  We need someone who can sit in midfield and pick out passes, especially as we now should have more forward minded midfielders in the side as well.

I see there hasn't been much interest in Boro putting Downing on the loan list a few weeks ago. I think we could do with a left sided attacker so would like us to try at the end of the window.

Not sure about the wages with him. I know we're not supposed to be penny pinchers anymore, but I still don't really fancy getting a high earner, even on loan, if he's going to turn up because he has no other options.

I can not think of a worse idea than bringing in this tackle bottle ING twat.
I thought the we had learnt the stupidity of giving a hasbeen a last big payday.

I'd have him back if he helps us get into the playoffs.

As much as I dislike the guy he was pretty good and we desperately need someone who can cross a ball.

Dr Tony has tweeted:
"99.9%+95%+51%"

Have to think it means Bree, Hourihane and a striker, probably the young lad from Arsenal.

I would rather play Andre Green than get Downing back.

agree, his development during the rest of the season could be vital if he is to play a future role.

Downing would be the equivalent to bed blocking in the NHS

Ashley Young has asked Mourinho if he can go out on loan. Would absolutely love to see him back at VP

I'd love that to, but sadly think there is precisely zero chance of it happening.

I agree a very long shot but stranger things have happened (clutching at straws with the Bruce Man Yoo tie/contacts and the Young ex-Villa tie - but to be fair the tabloids do articles with less ;-)
