I have never seen Hourihane and Bree play. Are the REALLY that good? As in real game changers for us? Genuine question.

Well if they are an upgrade on Hutton and Westwood I'm happy.

This Hourihane fella does look good mind, him and Henri will be very dynamic compared to what we're used to.

Hourihane has been attracting rave reviews this season.  Bree has apparently also attracted interest from top PL sides.  Personally, I would be reluctant to play an 18 year old in my defence.

Lansbury looked like a vast improvement on Saturday and if that is a taste of thinds to come, then we have a great player on our hands.  If Hourihane brings the same, I'm convinced that we have a midfield pairing of top, top quality for this division.  My only reservation would be that they are both naturally forward thinking midfielders.  Would we leave ourselves exposed too often when going forward?  (see Preston's first goal on Saturday)

Hourihane could score 10 from midfield and set up a further 10 to 15 over a season with his ability from dead balls. I would say he has the potential to make a huge impact. Kodjia like one. Chester, Baker, Angie, Hourihane, Jedinak and Kodjia down the spine of the side is about as good as it gets in this division. Add in Adomah and Amavi and Bree if as good as he's billed, 9 of the side is easy top 3 or 4 quality in this league.  Just the keeper and 2nd striker to sort.

I know what's gonna happen, we are going to go from having loads of strikers and no midfield, to loads of midfielders and no strikers!

I think we may well be looking for a LB in the summer.  Amavi has always stated that he'll see this season out (that's put the kiss of death on it).  He's never spoken further than that and I suspect that he'd like to move on if the opportunity arose and we are still in this division.  I wonder whether Adoma might be under threat in the summer too?  Jedinak certainly needs upgrading-He'll be another year older and slower.  He needs to be used as a squad player next season.

I do think that these 2 midfield signings are immense for us and that we'll be in for a quieter summer this time around.

Keane would-be wonderful for us..I hope we are trying to get him back..

The wonderful Claudine would certainly bring some long overdue cheer to Villa Park, alas Robbie is best left continuing his karaoke party pieces across Dublin these days. Durty owll townnn

36 now, isn't he ?
Not for us this time.
Sadly, a lot of the best ones are past it and we aren't aware of their replacements. Maye Bree and Bedaeu, Hourihane could do it, yet.

With Bree coming before Hourihane i have a bad feeling that ones not going to plan.

Villatransfers on Twitter has tweeted that there is a hold-up with the Hourihane deal but says it isn't a deal breaker and expects it to be settled by Wednesday.  I really hope so.
