Oh...and your wife too probably.

And the kids, the dog and the mother-in-law.

Silver linings by the score, eh? (Joke)  :-)

To get two goalscoring midfielders into the club in a week and both captains at their current club, for a combined £4m would be very good going.

Think Bruce has still got to decide on a formation that is going to get the best out of them.  I was happy with his signing, but the more I see of Jedinak I just don't think he is the answer if we are going to play any kind of decent football.

Still hoping to see a forward come in.

I think jedinak could be a centre half
Me too. I think he'd make a top notch centre half

4 3 3 or 532 with Jedinak able to sit in and not have to run much.

Three  in midfield would be my choice, but my concern with 4-3-3 is that Kodjia isn't an 'out-and-out" striker and has looked better when partnered with someone up there.

I posted somewhere else, I'd get a right back who can attack and have Jedi drop into the defence when we have the ball so both full backs can go forward and when we lose it he can be the one who comes forward and tries to win it 'early' in front of the defence.  Think of it as completely reversing the idea of a libero.

When Scott Parker played for Fulham against us.He moved into midfield as a support when their more advanced players had possession and went into the back 3 when we attacked or their defenders had the ball.If Jedi plays the role that you suggest then it would need more mobile midfielders and more of a pressing game.It would certainly be a more flexible system.Interesting to see Sanchez played well in the back 3 for Fiorentina in their win over Juventus.Similar player to Jedi.

I'm quite liking this transfer window where we appear to be having to box clever rather than throw cash about...I don't pretend to understand FFP but have seen it mentioned in enough transfer stories to assume that the club have briefed the press guys that it is a consideration.

Gestede, Gollini & Cissohko is I guess 90-100k a wk in wages & 6m in...Johnstone, Lansbury & Hourihane if it is right he'll be next is perhaps 80k & 4.5m out?? Gives a bit of budget for the younger signings be it Donkor, Bedeau or Bree?

Then we get to strikers, if FFP is an issue I'd guess the only way we get Rhodes if that is who SB wants is to sell Ayew &/or McCormack?

This. Get Amavi playing well and a right-back in and it looks decent. Full backs push on and Jedinak can drop back, like Dier was doing for Spurs last year.

He does it this year as well, it's why Rose and Walker look so good.  It's also exactly the player I had in mind when I was thinking about ways to use Jedinak that don't expose his inability to pass under pressure.

Agreed. Re passing under pressure the 2 possibly coming in might give him easier options than he currently has to do may improve his game. I certainly think McCormack will enjoy having midfielders who are happy to get up and around the box with him.  Hell even Gabby might.  We have been starved of a good midfield for a long time, partly through having poor options and last season because we got it wrong despite having some capable players.  Fingers crossed these 2 can solve it.  Both are a good age too.

Why would it be?

I think jedinak could be a centre half

I think that is a really good call. It would quite exciting to have a conversion like that as well, similar to Southgate , and the opposite of Barry (both in terms of position and age).

I reckon this is what Bruce has in mind:

Johnstone

Bree Chester baker amavi

Lansbury Jedinak hourihane

Adomah Rhodes kodjia
