Play Green and RHM next week. Certainly drop Gabby! Why is it that successive Villa managers tend to ignore the promising youngsters at the club? Callum Robinson has 7 goals at Preston this season and is looking a really good young striker now.

Well, no. But we can't sign him after the tournament as the transfer window will have closed.

Always thought he was pretty poor if he's the bloke who was at Wolves. He struck me as El-Ahmadi light.

From The Scum

Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce is making a £3 million move for Watford’s Algerian star Adlene Guedioura in a massive shake-up.

Bruce hopes to agree a fee with the Hornets and sort out personal terms in long-distance talks, with Guedioura at the African Cup of Nations

Guedioura has been in and out of the Watford side and the arrival of Tom Cleverley pushes him further down the pecking order.

Now, if we are being linked with a player who is being pushed down the pecking order by Tom Fucking Cleverly, then I truly despair.

I am sure I read a Tweet purportedly from Dr X that mentioned using loans. but then, we have loaned Johnstone, haven't we? Let's hope they're busily working on more after what SB said about being poor all across the side on Saturday. So he doesn't really think much of what he's got to work with, does he ? Nor us.

At the start of the season, when RDM was at the helm, the Dr tweeted something about having "contingency" plans for the ACN.  He wasn't specific about those plans and certainly didn't specify loaning strikers in.  It is irrelevant now in any case because whatever plans were laid with RDM ended when he was sacked.

It's beginning to look like that plan was Agbonlahor.

With our lack of pace I was amazed he was discarded so fast last summer.  He and Daniel Johnson would walk into the side now.

I'm not overly concerned, regarding our position in the league, at the moment.
If we're honest the play offs is what we'll be aiming at.
To my knowledge there is always a team that hits form and makes a surge towards the end of the season and nip into the play offs.
10 points isn't a great gap in the grand scheme of things.
Whether we're that team is to be seen.
Let's see what January brings

I wouldn't get too worked up over links to be honest, a lot of them turn out to be bollocks.

Steve Bruce does not do young and inexperienced.  He prefers slow and steady, no excessive risk options.  He does not scoop up points he grinds them out.  Thud and blunder.  Bump and grind is the Bruce way.

That's how I see it.

Couple of decent signings and Kodjia back then we can have a decent crack at it.

Which is strange in a way Brian considering he played in a team that contained arguably the best influx of youth team players making the step up to become first team regulars that has been produced in modern times.  You would think he'd see the benefits.

Can't say Guedioura ever impressed me...seemed to be years at Wolves and now Watford without actually playing that much.

Hopefully he's just plan B to Lansbury and Hourihane.
