Our premier league survival was at stake, hundreds of millions of pounds, they were intent on simply signing no one and that was it. Garde even said the players he suggested they didn't bother to contact. It was more to do with not spending any money at all than spending on the right players. Talk of Rhodes, that's the kind of money being pissed up the wall signing I don't want to see happen.
