Knowing how slow these takeovers can be, 're suitability etc it's easy to see how it might not be completed until after the deadline, leaving Lansbury a free agent I can't see how the present or future forest owners can benefit from that.

If they are at the final contract stage then they would not be able to buy or sell a player.

I don't think that's true, if the parties agree to it, why not?

Hourihane and Lansbury providing some legs and creativity in front of Jedinak would give the midfield the impetus it's lacked for 6 years now.

Quite right.  As long as the relevant value is taken into account in the final consideration, why not?  Do people think that companies stop trading when takeovers are going on?

I'm liking the look of this Fulham lad as well, although I confess to not knowing too much about him (or indeed the others)  Save to say, they are stand out players in their respective sides and a massive upgrade on our existing midfield.

I can see Jedinak dropping down to the bench, if not this season, then certainly come August.  He's not getting any younger and will be a useful squad member but I fear his days of being an automatic starter may well be numbered.  I will of course be more than happy to be proven wrong.

Would be a cracking side with those two involved. Hope it gets done.

I don't get ,waiting till next season for a promotion push ,the payments for the relegated teams will have improved, making it more difficult.  It is difficult to see how Dr Z is going to splash the cash again, maybe we should pick up a couple of young strong running midfielders from Div1 / Div 2, and try to slot them in now ,instead of crossing our fingers and waiting until the end of the transfer window. Surely if Lansbury can leave for nothing at the of the season, a deal could have been done by now, it's in everybody's best interests!
Who's Dr Z? If anything iit has to be Dr X surely?

I suppose it also depends if both parties are happy to sell him.

Barnsley fans seem to think that Bree is excellent, don't seem quite as bothered about Hourihane though. Seems like half their squad is being sold, poor buggers.

Surprising they're doing that, seeing as they got bonus £8m or so from John Stones move and they're in the mix.

If any PL club come in (apart from maybe Hull) then I don't see matching a bid being successful. Not many players are going to trade a chance in the PL for a play off scrap.

Hourihane to be paid £28k per week? I think Gabby is on double that! Crazy waste of money he's still on!

Gabby was on less than that last season and everyone had relegation clauses.
