Middlesbrough have said that Downing will be allowed on loan until the end of the season. Not necessarily to us.

Forest takeover due to be completed within 48 hours which should give us a better idea of whether we are likely to get Lansbury.

McCormack would benefit from a midfield that supports him. An extra runner hitting the box and create either an option for a pass or taking a defender away to create space would see good use of his intelligence and movement.

If you think he's fat, then you've never seen him play before this season. He's always looked in this nick.

We're too predictable in our attacking play at present. The quality we have sees us bludgeon our way through, particularly with Kodjia flair for the unpredictable.

Is Brady a left back or left winger?
If the later then that would be a good swap imo, otherwise we should continue to develop Amavi.

Not surprised they'd like someone to share the wages.

Apparently to persuade him to drop to the Championship his salary was £35,000 per week, which doubled if they got promoted.

Which is a lot for somebody to sit on the bench.

Agree with Ads. I'd like to see the real Ross McCormack. There's a class player in there.

Downing can do one.

Brady is a fine footballer but is one of those that hasn't really mastered any position. MON had him left of a midfield three for the most of the Euros, scored the famous winner against Italy B  in that role. But he was back at Left back for some recent games maybe with Ward out but can't recall. He really didn't impose himself in the midfield role v Serbia or Georgia. By all accounts he hasn't really impressed for Norwich this season either.
His best asset is his crossing from play and set pieces but not sure Kodjia is the type of penalty box forward to take advantage.
Downing by all accounts was dreadful for Boro last season at our level and clearly not impressing this season. Strange as his West Ham form had him back involved at international level not too long ago. No from me on him

Brady tends to fare better in a midfield where they players are bunched together.

Pat Murphy reckons Lansbury will come now or in the summer

I think we're so far off premier league quality that I'd be prepared to focus on getting the team right for next season to try and win automatic promotion. We're only really beating bottom 6 championship teams on a regular basis - only two wins all season against the rest.

I think that means replacing Jedinak too. Preferably with someone who can run and pass the ball at least a little bit.

I know it's negative, but that has always been my view (kinda).  But not just promotion, champions. I want us to win something, a real trophy.

I've been on the fence. But I can't see it happening and to be honest the thought of this team in the premier league has the potential robe so embarrassing I'm not sure I'm ready for it

If we get into the Premier League, we wouldn't have this team for long.

I don't see why a club with hundreds of millions to spend (potentially) would be less capable of holding their own in the top flight than the likes of Burnley or Middlesbrough.

Can we recall Gil and Veretout? Surely they'd strengthen the midfield? Veretout has had more first team experience whilst out on loan - he'd stand out this League.....
