Yes to Cleverley from me (even though it's probably not gonna happen). He has his critics but he's still easily way better than crap like Westwood and Gardner.

Write should be aiming to have the best midfielders in the division if we are going to get promoted. Cleverly might be if he reproduced the form he showed during our brief upsurge under Sherwood. If he played like he did for the rest of his Villa career, he'd be nothing special.

Delph - too much to repair the damage that was done over his leaving. In addition to that, for all his drive, he didn't actually create chances or score goals.
Cleverly - doesn't take any responsibility on the ball and is the typical square pass merchant.

I think Cleverley now gets the award for the worst ever former Villa player to be suggested for a return in the history of this message board. A great steaming pile of horse shit of a 'player', who will disappear up his own arsehole over the next few years.
Delph would be great from a playing point of view but I'd have mixed feelings. Wouldn't happen though, too much ego to drop down a division at his age, and too controversial a signing for Xia to sanction.
Lansbury would be really good I think, especially at that price.

I'd say he'd be one of the best midfielders in the Championship if he signed for us, but let's face it he's probably not going to drop down a league. Also I don't agree with the accepted belief on here that Cleverley was poor in his spell at Villa. I thought he was pretty decent, and when he and Delph left we finally dropped out of the PL. They were two of the very few PL standard players we had at the club and we let them go.
