We need a centre-midfielder and a striker. A striker is very important, IMO - just because Kodjia looks so much better having someone to play off and coming on to the ball, as opposed to having it played in to him.

Letting Gestede and Ayew go (because it's unrealistic to get shot of Ross), and getting in Rhodes, Brady and Cairney would do me.

I'd be slightly disappointed (but not distraught) if he brings his son in. He seemed to be third choice at Hull behind Chester/ Dawson and Davies, and seems to be a fairly limited footballer. However it's clear that we need someone better than Elphick as third choice.

Baker has done well so far this season, but watching the Newcastle game last night I was thinking  how good a Chester and Clark partnership could have been.

I think we definitely need centre half cover, but would maybe look for a loan and properly address the issue in the summer.

Article in the Mirror about us being interested in QPR's keeper for £4mil, also possible interest in Ayew:

Would be a great signing.
Wonder if Gollini would go out on loan? I think he's a talented keeper, just lacks English league experience.

The young keeper who fluffed it for Kodjia's winner?

Out the frying pan into the blast furnace.

Looked like he had a Brad Guzan sized hole at his near post.

That's like saying you wouldn't sign Neuer (?) from Bayern because he dropped that cross vs Dortmund a couple of weeks ago.  ;)

Well no, it's not really. As Neuer has been a top class keeper for the best part of ten years.

If we're bombing Gollini out (and I'm still not entirely sure we should be doing that) we need someone who is a marked improvement.

As I mentioned I think Gollini has the potential to be a top keeper, he just needs experience in the English game. I agree, we certainly shouldn't be bombing him out.

I also agree, but he does look weak to his left, but wish him really well here.

So they put Joey Barton in the headline but not the article,  because he's not a free agent.  Maybe changing the headline should have been considered.
