I thought he was easily our best player in the first quarter of the season

But he's been rubbish recently

From memory, all almost all of Ayew's best bits have come from him cutting in from the left, yet (I think) he's only played on the right handside under Bruce, where he's largely ineffective. Similarly, Kodjia has only played well either down the middle, or coming in from the right handside (v Brentford). Is it just me or do they just need to be swapped over?

Does anybody know what facial expression the Brentford player favours?

Hope it's not puzzled, like Agbonlahor.

For me, the problem with Ayew is not laziness or even his facial expression. It's that he tries to do too much sometimes. He loses the ball more than any other player because he dallies with it too long thinking he can take players on when its sometimes easier to lay if off. He can be very frustrating to watch.

Agree with that

he needs to be far more direct, tippy tappy slow paced sideways play doesnt even trouble the shit defences in this league

Ayew is one of those players who will largely frustrate and fail to fulfill expectations I'm afraid. We need a bit more stability than his mercurial talent.

Bruce has said one deal is verbally agreed and another close.  Any idea who?

Sam Johnstone's named was mentioned during the QPR commentary. I hope the other is a midfielder or centre half.

Sam Johnstone, the right back Jenkinson at Arsenal and his son (of course) are the three names that have been regularly linked. So I expect it is any two from that three.

His son seems like the only one who would realistically agree as early as he did (end of Nov). Reckon other players would have hedged their bets to wait and see if we were anywhere near the play-offs in Jan.
