Is this Giovinco the guy that played for Arsenal and was awful?

Danny Ings doesn't seem to be getting many games.

No, you're thinking of Gervinho, and Danny Ings is out for the season again.

Other than that, good post.

The ginger lad at Brentford is Ryan Woods, who grew-up supporting Walsall, and was part of their youth set-up until 2009...

Best player i've seen against us this season was the ginger playing for Brentford.

Ryan Woods? Thought he was excellent against us too - sure he was signed from Shrewsbury.

Houlihane from Barnsley has been getting all the reviews, watched a bit of the game v Leeds at weekend & the way he let the midfield runner go with no awareness was Westwood-esque in its hopelessness.

Personally my priority list would be;
- loan right back, one who can defend would be a massive upgrade on Hutton, one who can cross a ball would be a massive upgrade on Hutton.  SB doesn't seem to fancy Bacuna at RB & we all know Richards isn't up to it.
- centre mid, we are light in there, Gardner/Westwood are squad players so a proper partner for Jedinak will add a dimension to our attacking play if we more solid down the spine.
- centre back, again we are at least one light here, obv SB is the man in know regarding CBs but I would suspect he would want a player who is better than Elphick to pressurise Baker for the spot alongside Chester.
- experienced keeper to put some genuine pressure on Gollini if his form drops at any time, we saw last season that when a GK doesn't have genuine competition they can lose focus, Guzan was playing like a clown for weeks before he was replaced by Bunn who is as inept a keeper as I've seen in my years watching from Spinky onwards.

Now Gabby appears to be back as part of the furniture I would suspect we'll go with Gestede, McCormack & Gabby with Green & RH-M as back up whilst ACN is on - now we have a proper manager hopefully he will incentivise Green & RH-M with loan moves once Kodjia & Ayew returns.

Think we'll be alright for right-back. De Laet still to come back.

Tom Cairney as the centre midfielder? Wouldn't be suprised to see us go back for Abel Hernandez either. Especially if one of Ross or Ayew leave (perhaps use McCormack in a swapsie with Cairney?)

Ryan Woods. He was with Dean Smith at Shrewsbury. From Cannock/ Norton Canes area and he'll be playing top level football soon. Cracking player and I did mention him at the start of the season 😉

Aye, but with two specialist right-backs on the books and Bacuna we probably aren't going to sign another one are we?

Not seen or heard about this Ryan Woods fella before, but by what people have described, he sounds ideal.  Useful player, young, local (originally) and at a club where I think we could turn his heard.  Too early for him to attract the PL clubs but appears to have potential which suggests new could play at a higher level.

Bacuna should be used more as right back.  If we improve the midfield then the full backs' defensive ability will be less important.  Besides I think RB is probably the position where he has the most potential.

When will Jordan Lyden be fit? He didn't look out of place at right back when he played there last season even though I think it may have been against Wycombe.

Bruce said on 5Live last night that we have six strikers and only use one. Hyperbollix hopefully but I wonder is he already thinking of ditching some.

Woods ran the show when we played Brentford at VP earlier this season

Hopefully. Like unwanted kittens post Christmas.

Though I'd really only wish that miserable fate on one  rotund balding sugarbag.

Gestede for all his obvious  limitations seems a decent sort.

Tom Clarke beef cake defender  at Preston stand 5'11 but very decent player can also do a job as midfielder but has excelled as a centre back definitely worth pursuing him.

I hope not.  We have  fine array of striking options now.  We need a new right back and and central midfielder.
