Yeah I reckon we dodged a bullet

Nakhi wells refusing to sign a contract and going for £8m. I'd rather look there

Either of them would be a striker who's good at this level but not good enough if we go up, we have a lot of those players already.

No!! £19million we were apparently willing to pay in the summer. You could build us a midfield and give the North Stand a power-hose and fine lick of paint for that.

He also turned us down, as confirmed by Dr Tony on his Twitter account. Apart from Bruce, I can't see what has changed since then?

Have to admit, I would love it to happen.

He'd just be another striker we'd need to upgrade when we go back up.

Kodjia is a far superior version of the same player.

Possibly but I'd be happy to cross that bridge when we get to it.  If any striker is currently good enough to play in the prem, he will probably choose to do so over us, given the chance.

I also like the idea of playing an out and out number 9 on his own up front with Kodjia playing wide.  I think Kodjia is better in the wide position than alone up top (in my albeit limited games I've seen him play)

I suggest a straight swap with Gestede as Hull will need him in the Championship next season.

To Old Kodija:

In which case what would you do with Adomah and Ayew (and McCormack and Grealish)?
I think we have much greater priorities in the midfield.  Adding another striker will just add to the waste in the squad.

I would start something like we did on Friday night, replacing Gabby with Hernandez.

I've said previously, number 9 isn't the most critical of positions for us but if we got the chance to upgrade then I'd take it.

Neither Ayew, Grealish or McCormack are out and out number 9s so bringing in Hernandez would improve us.  Given what we have, I would probably start with Ayew up top but it wouldn't be perfect.

As for midfield, one real leader in there in January would be fine by me.  I'd also have Tishibola in there.

Adding another striker who scores goals would be anything but a waste in the squad and could mean the difference between 1 & 3 points, especially if we are getting decent deliveries into the box from the likes of Adomah and Amavi.

Our struggles to score goals this season has led us to getting one point rather than all three many times this season already.

When considering whether a player can step up a division, it's overlooking the aspect that the whole is better than the sum of it's parts. If we start to build up a good cohesive team, that side can provide the basis to a Premier League side and we can then look to add some additional quality in the right places.

Hernandez was taking the piss with wage demands in the summer. I don't see that one happening at all.

The reason why we are struggling to score goals is not because of the strikers.  It is our failure to create good chances from midfield and more importantly, keeping pressure on the opposition defence by a dominant midfield.

I disagree.  We've created loads of chances in most games this season.  If the strikers had been sharper RDM would probably still be in a job.

As you mention the change and big deciding factor could be the appointment of Bruce and their relationship (and of course further developments at Hull e.g. Hull's form /cash available for other transfers etc). Hull have only scored 10 times in 12 games (worst in PL) whilst conceding 27. They can't score and can't stop conceding - they're in the shit!

Agree to a point, but I think a striker who can hold the ball up, bring others into play and get on the end of things in box would really bring the team together.  There would probably be takers in the Premier League, but Shane Long would be a good shout.  I still think central midfield is the priority, but a centre forward like the one previously mentioned might bring it all together.

I would rather use the money for midfield and defenders as we got enough attacking players. If we find top quality attacking players that fine.  We don't need more strikers apart from on loan.
