Whether you like Oasis or not, it's actually a good song.

It is a good song, it's one of those that's been overplayed though. They've written better.

I think some people are missing the point. It's the words 'don't look back in anger' that make the song relevant, and it was completely spontaneous. It's a rare example of football fans joining the dots between experience and reality and actually making sense. That's to be encouraged.

And as for the meaning, surely it's to do with the last five years of utter shit, and our humiliating and degrading relegation, and looking towards a better future, rather than anything to do with Steve Bruce?

Indeed. Even over here I heard it on the radio commentary and raised a smile at the Reading PA playing that song immediately after the game. Right now we own it and for all the right reasons. I imagine it will piss off plenty of non-Villa supporters which can only be a good thing in my book.

Its gotta be a brummie band, at least one of Steel Pulse must be a Villa fan ? Any excuse to play one of their records.
You don't need an excuse to play a Steel Pulse song; I play them constantly!

Not sure any of the members of SP are into football.

Spizzenergi's The Sun Never Sets on Aston Villa - best Villa song ever although I still remember Aint No Bluff, the 1994 Cup song.

Yes it is. May I would suggest something appropriate to our owner which he would like.

Down at the Doctors /  Dr Feelgood.

Because I like the song and The Feelgood's were a great live band.

OCS are all noses, apart from Oscar the drummer.

Steve Craddock is a Villa fan.
Just saying like.

Spizzenergi's The Sun Never Sets on Aston Villa - best Villa song ever .......

I actually was singing this, with Spizz on Saturday night in the Hope and Anchor in Islington - whilst a load of Arsenal fans and Captain Sensible looked on with bemused expressions.

Definitely up there in my Top 10 most surreal moments....

I like the song and the majority of fans at the matches on Tuesday and Saturday enthusiastically joined in so I guess they did as well. It may just be a "in the moment" thing but who cares let's just enjoy it

Surely that's up to personal taste? I can hand on heart certainly say I don't think it is

A few years ago talksport had called him prior to a big Saturday game (can't remember which one now) but he behaved like a fourteen year old - something like "we're gonna smash the southern softie shandy drinkers". It was even below talksport standard.
