I only hate Newcastle because from a distance they could be mistaken for the stripeyfilth.

I have a sneaky feeling we'll turn our last good performances into results from now on and we'll brush the Geordies aside for a comfortable win. Our season will take off today.

They've picked up after a bad start but Wolves proved last week you can catch them on a bad day. I reckon it'll be another draw personally.

Last week seems months ago. It's like we've not played in an age.

RDM actually having them all together without any daft international nonsense will hopefully have let them build in training on what in isolation could have been seen as a decent clean sheet and point, if poor in the context of how we played in the final third and the season as a whole.

I'd like to see 433 with Adomah and Ayew either side of Kodjia and Grealish playing as a 3 in the middle for an attacking outlet.

I think we will play a 4231 though or 4411 with McCormack playing Robbie Keane esq here there and everywhere from deep.

We've got more quality up top than anybody in this league. Got to give them the midfield platform though which must be Tshibola legs, drive and pace to go with Jedinak's steel and physicality.

Jedinak's distribution has been so so. One good ball for Kodjia mind, but he doesn't lose a tackle and wins everything in the air. He needs that mobility nect to him in Tshibola for balance.

If Westwood must play, then it has to be with those two and he has to be a lot higher up. He's no good defensively and he doesn't have the variety to sit deep as he moves the ball tools slowly and cannot take the game and drive it on.

Actually feeling confident that we will here some clicking going on.

Don't really see much change this week to any of the previous few, so I'm going for a draw until 88 minutes, then they get a winner.

Maybe our season takes off next week!

Good post. Tend to agree on the 433 etc. Will work best if Tshibola is ready

Think McCormack may be unlikely to be fit

After a crap week at work with problem after problem, it would be great (just for once!) to enjoy a fantastic performance and victory from the Villa today. I am going to the next two away games, so picking up confidence from today will be vital. Both Barnsley and Preston will certainly up there game against us. Just about to set off, leaving plenty of time for the M5 to do it's worst!

Wednesday - I think this is where we turn our season around and get a good win.
Thursday - Ok few injuries and Jack issues, maybe we'll sneak a 2-1.
Friday - Actually we weren't that good last two games...a point would be decent.
Saturday - Oh god we're gonna lose.
Sunday - We go again.

It would be a great one to win but I can't see us winning the midfield battle against Diame and Shelvey. I think they'll overpower us in that area but we can cause them problems going forward. I'll go for another draw, 1-1 but everything crossed for the win we so desperately need. Two more games without a win and that's 4 victories in our last 50 games. That isn't a very good record.

Well, hopefully Clark will play and be bullied mercilessly by whatever forward line we play.
